take a peek at the member ratio between the two you will see what the derby community wants. i do not like the new site one bit but if you do hey thats fine you will be lonely soon tho

I like a good candid answer.
I like this site. I spend as much time here as on Wecrash. Wecrash is but a shell of its former self. I could easily spend hours and hours on the old site.. I spend about 5 to 10 minutes there now and barely log in regularly.
The PM box is empty there.. I used to get 10 pms per day on the old Wecrash.. i get more on Wecrashtoo, and Wesmash... then I do on the new Wecrash and thats not saying much as I doubt I have received 10 pms since it reopened.
I disagree with those putting provocative posts on the old forum
I also disagree with the Censoring going on, on the new wecrash and many of the games going on there.
I can post forum links to other derbysites on any other derbyforum I go on. I like to know where all the sites.. big and small are...
For someone to despise every aspect of a forum that is set up in a traditional forum format is irrational, unless you don't like the traditional forum layouts.
I find these layouts easier to navigate.
I don't use Wecrash as much because the user menu is a pain in the butt to use. Yes I know my way around and its a pain in the butt.
I can't see Wecrash going away... nor can I see it regaining its former glory within the next few years. If things were going awesome and the site so great... there would be alot more happening then there is.
Right now its a useable forum....with a little more action then here. But considering the history of wecrash, its user base and it being the url most people know off the top of their head.
I'd say that the New Wecrash.. doesn't hold a match to the old wecrash.
In terms of usership, user base and interest.
Thats what I compare too..
We are stuck with a bunch of smaller sites...
Anyone wondering why needs to look in the mirror.
I like all derbysites...
I don't have to like the forum layout.

I think that with all of the little sites still around, it blocks a lot of progress that can be made on the new site. Yeah, you might not get many pms on the new site, but are the people pm'ing you using the other website? The true goal of this is to make people realize we all suffer from variety and choice in forums. Alot of people who use all three of the sites offer a lot to the derby community with respects to products, help, suggestions, etc. but with the segregation and options, the help that is available is limited. This sport sees dying car counts all of the time, and we all know the costs that are involved, so when a new guy joins one of the three sites and needs help, but cant get the help he needs, does he give it up immediately? Maybe, and that is alarming. More times than not you can go to the classifieds and see someone selling out, but how many times do you go to the tips section and see just getting started? That is the ratio we need to look at. Grow up guys and smell the roses, you are doing more damage than good to the derby sport/community. |

before wecrash there was derbypro, it was the 1st big demo derby forum. Long story short, the IDDA (which ran the derbypro web site) tried to do to much and the result was a falling out with in it's members , which led to Tory starting wecrash, and wecrash grew and became the #1 site. Now it seems that history is again repeating it's self. Since when has a monopoly proved to be a good thing? Yes everybody and every thing on one site had it's good points ,but to claim that anything other then that is wrong is foolish. To think nobody has the right to leave , or dis-approve of the "new" wecrash is foolish. It may come to pass that a new site takes the lead from wecrash and leaves it in the dust or it may not.
I'm a grown man and I will choose where I go,I will not blindly follow the herd. In all honesty of all the sites I visit(5 in total) I like the layout and format of derbythis.com the best,but I'm not gonna crap on every other site out there because of it. At the end of the day what difference does it make if I spend 1hr one one site or on 5?

Ultimately it comes down to this guys, you are fighting a losing battle when it comes to the forum, wecrash is and always has been the preference for derby drivers. Get a broom and sweep up the sand that has fell out of your mangina over the past couple of months and enjoy the company over at wecrash.com. Sorry for the rant and the namecalling, but its true, some of you are acting like spoiled brats!!!!! Then there are those of us who have went through this whole scenario before. You say "wecrash is and always has been the preference for derby drivers" that is not entirely true. There are many of us who were members of the IDDA. The IDDA was the preference for derby drivers until they were bought out, and the new owner tried to make money off the users. Wecrash evolved out of that mess and the outcry by the members of the IDDA. Some of us have been using the Internet for derby addiction since the mid 90's. I have seen many derby sites come and go, each promising positive change for the derby world. Tory is the only one who accomplished that goal. He did this by listening to the people who joined, and making changes as needed. I believe the majority of people on these newly created sites feel as though they were not being listened to, I believe they feel like their concerns were not being addressed, and have been treated as if their membership in wecrash is not appreciated. There is no reason to bash each other, and there is no reason multiple sites cannot co-exist. Just think if there were no Chevy's out there you would never realize how great Mopars really are  |

i said from day 1 i wasn't participating in the new regime...
i joined to 'take my screen name' to keep someone from ruining the reputation i've built over the last 9 years...
views and posts here are nothing to what the old one was....
views and posts there are NOTHING to what they paid for in its old form....
i started a post in late february about if this site is to succeed it can't become a hater site...some missed that point
if everyone just shuts up, runs this site like its business as usual the cream will rise to the top...
the thing i hate seeing the most is posts like "look what i just posted over there!!!" like a kid poking a dog in a kennel...it gets you no where and the dog just thinks your an sandbagger

I originally typed a similar statement in my response over here, but couldnt put it into good words. Hypocrite I am on this, and I can achknowledge that. I agree completely that if you think wecrash sucks, then stay on the other sites, but dont go on there and put under the jokes thread that the biggest joke of all is the new wecrash. There are advocates for each site, and we all know that. I just got tired of reading wecrash sucks here and there on wecrash... |

You can't polish a turd. x2 on the software being craptastic. would help if they listened to their users. the main reason i do not post on there is i am mostly a reader, i like to post to a topic and then be able to find the topic whenever need be to check for responses/updates/etc. the way it is set up now, i cannot even find threads I have started without digging for a few hours which is not going to happen untill they make the new site more mobile friendly and/or make the format easier to navigate. i cant stay on over there for more than an hour without the setup giving me a headache |
