Im buying a car with an olds 455 in it and trans. I would like any help from someone who knows something about these motors. All i know right now is it has an E stamped on the heads, has an edelbrock intake, new plug wires, edelbrock valve covers, and a chrome air cleaner. The seller also said it has a different cam in it but I dont know for sure right now. Trans goes with it. Can anyone tell me the estimated value in it if does run. thanks, and if there's any interest in it my number is 320-282-7169. text

LETTER CODE "E" IS A 1970 ONLY PRODUCTION HEAD, USED ON THE 1970 OLDS DELTA 88 AND 98 MODELS. IN ALL THE 442`S AND CUTLASSES I HAVE OWNED THAT WERE 1970 MODELS, NONE HAD THE E HEADS, THEY HAD "C" CASTINGS. THE MOST DESIRABLE HEAD IS THE 455"F" LETTER HEAD. MANY SHADY GUYS WILL BUY AN "E" HEAD, THEN GRIND OFF THE LOWER LEG OF THE LETTER "E' TO MAKE IT AND "F" HEAD, BUT THE CASTING NUMBER UNDER THE VALVE COVER TELLS THE LIE EVERY TIME.... IF IT RUNS GOOD, NO NOISES OR SMOKE, AROUND $900-$1000 ...........
