Hello, all! Darkhorse Racing has soome very exciting news for 2012!

We have three awesome shows lined up for you!

July 29th, Lake County Fair
August 19th Kenosha Co Fair
October 21st Rockford Speedway.

We are bringing Auto Soccer to Lake County Fair July 29th (along with our regular demo derby).

Great news for those of you in our points race! Interstate Batteries Fox River Valley and Interstate Batteries Northern Illinois are providing our first, second and third place drivers in our points race each one new Optima Red Top! How freaking cool is THAT!? But....you can't win if you don't race!, and pre-registration earns ya' DOUBLE POINTS per car pre-registered!

WOW! More points news!

Comfort Suites are really stepping up to the plate! In addition to providing a 5 night stay in a king-sized whilrpool suite for the points champion, they will provide a weekend stay in similar accomodations for the 2nd place in points!

There are only 3 shows this season, so the points race will be very close! Remember, pre-registering on www.darkhorsedemoderby.com earns double points for each car pre-registered, not only for signing up, but for every point that car earns at the show it's been pre-registered for!

POINTS AND PAYOUT
Prizes for our points championship have gotten OUT OF CONTROL! It's gotten so good, we gave it it's own page on our site!
Points are accrued for participation in the Lake County Fair, Kenosha County Fair,
and Rockford Speedway shows only.
POINTS ARE ACCRUED AS FOLLOWS:

Register your car: 5 pts

Heat Race Top 3: 10 pts

Smokin’ Pumpkin: 25 pts

Feature Top 5:

100 pts - 1st place

80 pts - 2nd place

60 pts - 3rd place

40 pts - 4th place

20 pts - 5th place

NOTE: ANY CAR PRE-REGISTERED WILL EARN DOUBLE POINTS! AND THAT'S NOT JUST DOUBLE POINTS FOR REGISTERING (regularly 5 points), BUT DOUBLE POINTS FOR EVERY POINT THAT A PRE-REGISTERED CAR EARNS IN COMPETITION AT THAT SPECIFIC SHOW! FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU RUN A MINI CAR AND A SUPER TRUCK AT KENOSHA AND BOTH ARE PRE-REGISTERED, BOTH EARN DOUBLE POINTS. IF ONLY ONE IS PRE-REGISTERED, ONLY ONE GETS DOUBLE POINTS. Derby-style heat race: Top 3 from heats advance to feature: qualified drivers receive
$30 and a trophy.

Race-style heat race: winners receive $30 and a trophy. All classes that have a
race-style heat MUST compete in the heat to run in the feature. ALL cars that
compete in the heat may run in the feature.

Fair Class Feature Top 5 (one & done, no heats): 1st - $750, 2nd - $400, 3rd - $300, 4th - $200, 5th - $100

Fair Class Feature Top 5 (heats and feature format): 1st - $1000, 2nd - $400, 3rd - $300, 4th - $200, 5th - $100

Super Trucks (one and done, no heats): 1st - $500, 2nd - $250, 3rd - $125

Mini Trucks (one and done, no heats): 1st- $300, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $100

Nostalgia build: Feature car count below 10 cars: 1st - $300, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $100

2 days till derby.... CAN'T COME FAST ENOUGH!

Attention!

Due to the actions of a few, I have instituted a few new rules. The following rules (which should be common sense and proper derby etiquette) take effect immediately:

a) there will be NO teaming up. Period. THIS MEANS YOU! This is your only warning. Any one caught deliberately not aggressively hitting will be disqualified. If two or more drivers are teaming up and not hitting each other, the whole team will be disqualified. I don't care if it's during the heat or down to the final 3 in the feature. 2 against one doesn't fly. Don't be the guy I make an example of.

b) Once the red flag has been thrown, STOP! Pay attention to the flagmen! There may be an emergency situation where the paramedics, a driver, and /or DhR crew members are on the track. We don't need to be run over by you. Also, you all have too much time & money invested in your cars to be taken out by some inconsiderate schmuck that ends your day with a cheap shot. I can't have anyone hurt because you're not paying attention, and I don't want anyone taken out unfairly. If you deliver a shot after the red flag has been thrown, it's over for you. You'll be disqualified.

If I disqualify you for these infractions, you will not come back in the consolation (if it occurs in the heat race), you will lose your points for the event, and you will lose any prize money & trophies you have won at this event. I hope I have made myself clear. What happens from here on out is entirely up to you.
