ACTUALLY THERE'S LESS WORK INVOLVED IN CHECKING THE SPLINE COUNT ON A DISK BRAKE LINCOLN REAR. THEIR ALL 28 SPLINE STOCK. MAXIMUM EFFORT REQUIRED WOULD BE TO REMOVE THE HUB CAP , AND LOOK AT THE RECTANGULAR SLOT AT THE BRAKE HUB. Wow... is all I have to say. Why do you think you need to argue with everyone? Do you have a hard-on for Dave? Your posts only prove that you are worthless. You are arguing about pointless things like Ford junk! Ford only made recycled paper clips and boat anchors.

I suppose next you are going to argue that the fomoco didn't use friction to stop the 70's era cars but I was hydraulic pressure?

FIXED MY 440 DOWN TO 400, CAPTAIN FAT FINGERS TYPO. PERSONALLY EVERYONE THINKS THOSE DISC BRAKE 9 INCHES ARE GOLD, AND THEY WANT 500 TO A GRAND ON CRAIGSLIST, I AM ASSUMING THE CENTER IS MADE OF GOLD OR SILVER.. LOOKS LIKE A HEAVY JUNKPILE TO ME.... AGREED , THEY ARE WAY OVER PRICED , ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CONSIDER THAT MOST OF THE GUYS BUYING THESE SIMPLY JUST WANT DISK BRAKES ON THE REAR.. ABOUT $250 WILL BUY NEW ROTORS , CALIPERS , HOSES IF THE RIGHT PARTS ARE PURCHASED. AND WITH A LITTLE INGENUITY THE CALIPER BRACKETS CAN BE MADE CHEAP. @ THE KIDS , THERE'S NOTHING TO BE GAINED FROM YOUR CHILDISH ATTEMPTS AT AN INSULT..BUT HEY IF YOUR CHEVY LIGHT MUST BURN YOU MAKE SURE IT SHINES BRIGHT ...... AT LEAST BRIGHTER THAN YOURSELF. Now that's a solid comeback right there. How old are you? 10? 12? What have you been doing on the entire thread? Trying to be an arrogant turd..... Then you can't take it when someone says something about you, or just knows you're an idiot. I'm not insulting anyone when i say Ford stuff is junk. Don't assume anything. Not all Ford haters run GM. Keep digging.

APPARENTLY OLDER THAN YOU... YOU SEE I GRADUATED FROM NAME CALLING AROUND THE TIME I LEFT GRADE SCHOOL. IAM ABOUT AS INTRESTED IN WHAT YOU RUN FOR A POWER PLANT AS I AM ABOUT WHAT YOUR HAVING FOR DINER TONIGHT. IF YOU HAVE NO VIABLE INFORMATION TO SHARE , SAVE THE INSULTS. WE HAVE CHRUSHER FOR THAT. EVEN HE POSTS USEFULL INFORMATION WHILE DOING IT. ok...ok... Name calling is immature...... but I'm sure you have had your fair share of name calling. That's fine... but don't be accusing people of not knowing anything and assuming they are something, or run something else. I did eat DINNER tonight. Thanks...

I DO IT RIGHT AFTER I PRACTICE COUNTING THE SPLINES ON MY DISK BRAKE AXLES EVERY EVENING.. Every evening? See that right there make you a liar. I don't know you from most other guys on here but I am going to guess that you don't do that every evening. So was that statement in fact a lie? Dave how many calls do you get a week asking about axles? Later Brandon

Hello. I looked on two of my Ford disc brake assemblies. I looked at the hub/flange. I did not see any slot or groove. In fact, I did not see any marks at all. So, what spline count do I have? Think hard now, be carefull what you write.
Brandon, enough phone calls that; I do not need to up-date my web site (five years or more now), AND not need to post on "wecrash", we-crash+", new wecrash, or new-old or old-new old we crash. Not for some time now. Most people know where to go to get the best. It does vary day to day. Two to over ten some days. Now is a more busy time tahn January. Thank you for asking. David Bryan

Its an Eaton HO52 or HO72 depending on the brake size. All steel housing. The spider gears axles and hubs off a 14 bolt will work in it according to what I found on off road sites. Dont hold me to this but I read the axles are only 17 spline but I havent tore this one down yet. I removed the pan and it is a 48 model with 5.13 gears. They made them from 47-72 from what I read. I talked to nerat and he is not sure if a 14 bolt yoke will work or not. If anyone knows if it will let me know it will save me from having to find a yoke to try.

ive got a handful of those eaton rears. as far as what interchanges with what, i dont know. what's there works. all ive really ever done with them is weld the spiders and go. one's been under the same car and ran every year since 07. all it does is mangle the occasional rim. brake parts are non-existent/i havent found any. for another one, i made some backing plates and put some more conventional brake parts on it. from memory the yokes are different, i think they are smaller on the eatons. if your rear has the yoke on it, use it. just change the ujoint in the driveshaft they work and if you can break a big axle 8 lug...thats a trophy worth keeping

They arent worth a whole lot because not a lot of people know about them and even the people with trucks that have them usually swap them out because parts are so exspensive for them. Bearing kit is supposodley $800.00 or so. They have good ground clearance and its all steel so we are going to set it up and try it out. The reason for wanting a yoke yousoldout is to run a slider shaft.
