2012 Big Cars Rules
Registration closes 45 minutes before the show is scheduled to start.
Drivers' meeting is 15 minutes before the show is scheduled to start.
The show needs to start on time!
Required:
Drivers must be 18 years of age or older. Drivers aged 15-17 and pit entrants under age 18 require a signed release from a parent or legal guardian. Proof of age is mandatory if requested: be prepared.
Officials reserve the right to accept or reject any and all entries. NO obscene wording or photos allowed.
Only drivers, mechanics, etc. who sign an insurance release will be allowed in pits.
VEHICLE REGULATIONS
Must be ANY year hard top car or station wagon. NO HEARSES, LIMOS, JEEPS, CHECKERS, IMPERIALS, PRE 1973 LINCOLNS, WEDGE CARS, TRUCKS, OR SUV's unless specified.
DRIVETRAIN / ENGINE
Homemade driveshaft permitted
Any make motor & transmission in any car: permitted
Distributor must not pass through firewall at the before race inspection. This will be judged at inspection.
Distributor guards are allowed, but cannot connect to or touch cage before or after derby.
Electric fans are permitted.
SUSPENSION
Suspension may be solid. Do not change coils to leaf, etc.
Homemade / reinforced tie rods are acceptable.
Bumper height must not be any higher than 27" from top center of bumpers to the ground, or lower than 16" from the center bottom of the bumpers or frame rail to the ground whichever is lower. We understand used cars will possibly differ and should be acceptable. For example, Spacers may be used to raise height. Do not smash center of bumpers down to try and make height requirement. Pre-ran cars must meet minimum bumper height requirements.
Humps may be chained, one chain per side.
FRAME & BUMPERS
Bumpers may be loaded, but must appear stock. Do not load bumpers with concert.
Frame seams and cowl body mount boxes forward may have single bead of weld.
Bumper skins (chrome), brackets assembly, shock housings, and shocks may be welded. Non-Gusset cars only may have 7” gusset no thicker than ¼”.
If frame is broken or rusted through, a small "filler" may be put in to fill the break, with minimal overlap of metal on the frame. If it is a plate, it is considered no good. Do not cover frame holes. We must be able to see the bend if plated. It must be welded down two sides only with a plate size of 3x3x1/4”.
Hump plates are allowed. They must be no longer than 22" long: 11" each way from the center of the hump; 1/4" or less thickness; on the outside of the frame only, and must contour to the shape of the frame. You may pitch, tilt or tip the front end, but NO added metal in anyway.
Body Mounts: Do not take them out and place body on frame. You may replace them. If replaced, a gap of 1/2" minimum is mandatory between body and frame. You may replace with a stack of washers, or one piece of anything solid, as long as it is the same diameter as the factory bushing 3”. Do NOT squish factory mounts. Also, the body bolts may be replaced, but must be no larger than ¾”. Washers and nuts must remain in same location as any taken out. No big washers on the outside of the frame unless specified in the "Hoods and Trunk Lids" hold down section of this document.
Any car bumper on any car.
Trunk area mounts torn out from previous competition is acceptable. If bolted back together, use spacers.
HOODS, TRUNK LIDS, HATCHES & TAILGATES
Hoods, trunk lids, hatches, and tailgates may be held closed with any one or any combination of the following options. (Note- Hoods must be open and with car during inspection.) Body creasing, enhancing of existing body lines is allowed, but no folding over and welding.
A. Up to 4 places in hood and also 4 places in trunk, through the frame, using all thread or homemade threaded rods. The all thread / rods may run through top of sheet metal and all thread cannot run through the bottom of frame, it must have washer and nut up in frame. Do not loop or U shape them. They may be a maximum of 1" in diameter, and may be held in place with a maximum of 3 washers per rod. One washer is allowed on bottom of frame, and one washer allowed on top of frame in hood area with a nut on each washer. In trunk: One washer on top of hood or trunk lid with nut on washer. No big washers directly under hood or trunk lid sheet metal. Maximum size of any washer on these hold downs is 7" in any direction. Body mounts may be replaced if installing all thread through body mount hole.
B. Angle iron pieces are acceptable: no longer than 7" in length, and approximately 7" a part. You may put on fender and hood and / or quarter and trunk, hatch or tailgate, no bigger than 2" angle. We understand used cars may not have the 7" spacing.
C. Tailgate, hatch or trunk lid may be welded solid shut. If welded, use strap no wider than 2" or use filler rod or bead of weld. If trunk lid comes to inspection closed, an inspection will be cut in trunk lid minimum of 15" in diameter for inspection. No loaded drip rails.
D. Hood and/or trunk lid may be removed. If hood is removed, fan must be removed also. Trunk lids must not be removed and bolted flat inside trunk on floor. They may be trimmed / tucked.
E. Hood must have hole(s) in it big enough to fight fires if needed. Hood must remain securely down over fan. If hood raises or bridges up where the fan is exposed, you may be taken out. Sheet metal around holes can be bolted back together, no more than 6-3/8” bolts per hole.
DRIVER COMPARTMENT: ALL DOORS MAY BE SOLID WELD SHUT
Driver protection bars are permitted by using any or all of these options:
A. Side to side dash bar
B. Side to side bar behind driver's seat
C. Back seat area side to side bar
Bar(s) running from dash bar along single loop roll bar is also acceptable.
Only the roll bar may be welded or bolted to frame. If you have any corner bars, they may only connect to sheet metal / floor pan. If connecting to floor, a washer / plate on each corner is acceptable to secure it down. Rear corners and bars may touch wheel well humps and must not have any kicker plates or be connected to frame humps. No pre-mashing down sheet metal. Bar cannot go any further back than lower seat cushion location if it was still in the car.
Outside driver's door plate is acceptable. If it comes loose, you may be disqualified for safety reasons.
Firewall may be cut to gain access to distributor, to run lines through or to make floor shifter operate properly. For safety reasons do not overcut.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
Batteries: Any type or amount may be used. Mount in passenger floor or seat securely and cover.
Driver's door should not be mashed down for easier access to the inside of the vehicle.
Electric fuel pump permitted. Must have power shut off switch in reach of driver and marked.
Eye protection is mandatory while on track. Helmets must be strapped securely while driving.
Fenders and quarters may be trimmed. You may bolt them together; use 10-3/8” bolts and washers per fender. No welding panels together.
Fiberglass header panels must be removed. They do not support the car and only make a mess.
Gas tank must be removed and, if possible, a smaller tank (metal recommended) must be placed in driver's compartment behind driver's seat. Must be covered and securely mounted.
All glass MUST be removed. NONE permitted in doors, tailgates or lying loose in car anywhere. Any sign of glass and car WILL NOT COMPETE.
Glass, lights, lenses, moldings, door handles, locks, wheel weights, plastic grilles, and Freon must be removed before arriving at track. All cars must be swept clean.
Headers through hood are permitted. No side to side header connector to help support hood.
Radiator may not have any foam or padding around it, only in the corners.
Radiator must remain in stock position. Any automobile style allowed. No reserve tanks.
Seat belts must be operable and worn. If not, car will be disqualified or not compete.
Sheet metal such as dog houses, etc. must remain manufacturer specific: Ford to Ford, GM to GM, etc. No truck dog house on a car.
Any type tire may be liquid / solid filled or stuffed; must be 16" or smaller in size.
Transmission / oil cooler acceptable, but must be mounted no higher than front seat, due to safety reasons. Mount to floor, back seat area, or under hood; not in front by the driver. No reserve tanks permitted.
Anything may be removed unless previously stated. Do not weld radiator support, hood hinges, or anything else, unless these rules say it is allowed. Do not weld anything under the hood unless it is a repair; with the exception of the core support, which can be welded to the fenders. We are sure there are some minimal items that will be, and can be welded, and will be judged at the time of inspection. If there is something you have in mind, feel free to contact us. We do not want welded radiator supports, fenders, hoods, firewalls or anything that would be major reinforcement. Small weld repairs are OK, but will be judged. We understand everyone has their things they like to do. If you do something not on the list, just let us know and it will be evaluated, and there will be a final and binding decision for all vehicles.
Each car in competition must have a number plate on top of the vehicle. It must be at least 16" x 16" and easily read from a distance.
DISQUALIFICATIONS
You can be disqualified for the following reasons:
Using up determined time limit to make a hit (2 minutes).
Sand bagging, not hitting or holding
Hitting driver's door: First time= warning;
Second time = disqualification
Two small fires or one big fire
LATE ENTRIES
These will most likely not be accepted. We have a time schedule and we cannot keep the fans waiting. Make sure you get signed in NO LATER than approximately 45 minutes before show time, or you will most likely NOT COMPETE.

2012 Mini Car regulations and rules
Same as big cars except for the following:
No cars appearing to sit higher than normal will be allowed to compete.
Must be powered by a motor that is no more than 6 cylinders.
Must be 106" wheel base or less.
No frame shortening or moving rear end forward.
Tires: 15" or smaller tires / wheels.
If 4 wheel drive, you must convert to 2 wheel drive.
Big car bumpers are ok.
If we get too many mini cars for one event, we will run elimination heats, stopping the heats at eight cars, and having a sixteen car feature.
Mini car prize money and trophies will be for the feature only.

2012 Stock Car regulations and rules
VEHICLE REGULATIONS
1980 and newer: No hearses, limos, sedagons, SUV's or trucks.
VEHICLE PREP
All glass, trim and stock gas tanks must be removed.
BODY
Front and rear window bar is required 2” flat strap bolted or welded. 2 per window no A-frames. This for the drivers safety not reinforcement.
Anything can be removed; nothing can be added, unless it is in the rules. Any car bumper on any car.
The body mounts must remain stock and in place except for radiator support mounts you can use ¾” all thread with a 5” washer on the top of your hood for a hold down; don't touch them. Bumper shocks can remain in place or you can weld bumper to straight frame. Hood and trunk can be held shut with #9 wire, or with 2”angle iron no longer than 2” and one 3/8” bolt. You can have up to 8 spots on the hood and trunk wired with up to 4 strands through each hole, or 8 angle iron pieces. Notching the frame is OK; no pre-bending.
Front doors only can be welded shut (A & B pillar only); rear doors can be chained, bolted or wired. If welded use 2” wide flat strap.
Hood must have 2 large holes so we can see inside and to help fight fires.
DRIVE TRAIN
Any year engine and transmission is OK, but must be stock and manufacturer specific.
Rear end may be welded, but must remain stock with stock gears.
Stock transmission cooler or aftermarket is allowed.
Motor may be chained with 1 or 2 chains per side. You can have 1 chain that wraps around the transmission and cross member to hold it in place.
Radiator can have 2 extra hold downs to help keep it in place.
Exhaust may exit through hood. Stock or headers.
Coil springs can be wired or clamped in place, bottom only.
SUSPENSION
Must have a soft bounce
TIRES
7" x 15" or smaller required; No studs on drive wheels; Tubes are OK-- NO stuffing or filling.
CAGE
Required: Dash bar, seat bar and 2 bars connecting them; Seat bar must be within 6" of the rear of the driver's seat. Connecting bars cannot extend past the dash and seat bars.
No down bars. Cage can be welded to sheet metal only.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
*Up to 2 batteries may be used, and must be securely fastened to the floor and covered.
*Gas tank must be secure and covered behind the driver.
*Boat tank, or something similar, is preferred.

2012 Truck regulations and rules
The 2011 Truck Rules are the SAME as the 2011 Big Car Rules with the exception of the following:
1. You MUST run truck bumpers; NO back bumpers allowed on the front.
2. CAGE can run to the wheel humps in the bed
3. Can run 4 EXTRA BOLTS in the bed, with maximum 7" plate
4. BED can be: WELDED, BOLTED, or ANY COMBINATION of both to the cab
5. NO HUMP PLATES or HUMP CHAINS
6. NO electric fans on radiator
7. Gas tank MUST be in bed of truck
8. Battery- Can be EITHER: in the cab OR bed of truck
9. ANY SIZE tire is OK
10. NO WEDGING.

2012 Lawnmower regulations and rules
SAFETY
1. Driver must have on Long-sleeve shirt and pants.
2. Helmet must be worn at all times.
3. Must have some sort of eye protection on.
GENERAL RULES:
1. The Lawn Mower must have a factory frame, no homemade frames.
2. Must be a front engine mower - no rear engines allowed.
3. All mowers must have factory stock engines.
4. Reinforcing the frame is permitted.
5. Transaxles must be factory - reinforcing or spider gears is allowed.
6. Reinforcing around the engine is allowed but can’t be outside of the hood.
7. Hoods must remain factory, hoods can be screwed down or welded. If hood is fiberglass, you can make a hood from sheet metal but it is not allowed to be any bigger than the fiberglass hood was.
8. Brakes must be in operation when pulling in for the heat race, must also have forward and reverse.
9. Gas tank must be fastened with the cap on, if it comes loose or gas leaks you will be disqualified.
10. Some sort of leg guard is mandatory before entering arena, must go from rear fender to front foot rest or frame.
11. A rear bumper is allowed but can’t extend more than four inches out from rear of mower, not the tires. If you run a bar behind the seat you cannot tie it in with the rear bumper.
12. Pulleys can be changed to increase speed.
13. Drive train modifications are allowed but must stay belt driven.
14. Wheels must be of lawn mower type. No dual wheels. Tractor-tread and cut tires are allowed tires.
15. Mower decks must be removed before entrance to pit area, plus all headlights and any other plastics must be removed.
16. Battery can be used to start the mower, but then must be taken out before entering arena.
17. The front of the frame under the grill may be strengthened for hitting but must be a smooth finish, no front bumpers allowed.
18. If driver rolls over he/she is disqualified, if any part of your body touches the ground you will be disqualified.
19. In the event of a roll-over the event will be stopped until the officials get the mower back upright.
20. Number must be somewhere on each side of the mower, number may be on helmet also.
21. All of the rules as far as when you are in the arena will be explained in the drivers meeting.
22. If mower doesn’t pass inspection or participant refuses to fix something, there will be no refunds.
23. Officials have final say, we reserve the right to check mower after derby.

2012 Mini Car regulations and rules
Same as big cars except for the following:
No cars appearing to sit higher than normal will be allowed to compete.
Must be powered by a motor that is no more than 6 cylinders.
Must be 106" wheel base or less.
No frame shortening or moving rear end forward.
Tires: 15" or smaller tires / wheels.
If 4 wheel drive, you must convert to 2 wheel drive.
Big car bumpers are ok.
If we get too many mini cars for one event, we will run elimination heats, stopping the heats at eight cars, and having a sixteen car feature.
Mini car prize money and trophies will be for the feature only.

2012 Stock Car regulations and rules
VEHICLE REGULATIONS
1980 and newer: No hearses, limos, sedagons, SUV's or trucks.
VEHICLE PREP
All glass, trim and stock gas tanks must be removed.
BODY
Front and rear window bar is required 2” flat strap bolted or welded. 2 per window no A-frames. This for the drivers safety not reinforcement.
Anything can be removed; nothing can be added, unless it is in the rules. Any car bumper on any car.
The body mounts must remain stock and in place except for radiator support mounts you can use ¾” all thread with a 5” washer on the top of your hood for a hold down; don't touch them. Bumper shocks can remain in place or you can weld bumper to straight frame. Hood and trunk can be held shut with #9 wire, or with 2”angle iron no longer than 2” and one 3/8” bolt. You can have up to 8 spots on the hood and trunk wired with up to 4 strands through each hole, or 8 angle iron pieces. Notching the frame is OK; no pre-bending.
Front doors only can be welded shut (A & B pillar only); rear doors can be chained, bolted or wired. If welded use 2” wide flat strap.
Hood must have 2 large holes so we can see inside and to help fight fires.
DRIVE TRAIN
Any year engine and transmission is OK, but must be stock and manufacturer specific.
Rear end may be welded, but must remain stock with stock gears.
Stock transmission cooler or aftermarket is allowed.
Motor may be chained with 1 or 2 chains per side. You can have 1 chain that wraps around the transmission and cross member to hold it in place.
Radiator can have 2 extra hold downs to help keep it in place.
Exhaust may exit through hood. Stock or headers.
Coil springs can be wired or clamped in place, bottom only.
SUSPENSION
Must have a soft bounce
TIRES
7" x 15" or smaller required; No studs on drive wheels; Tubes are OK-- NO stuffing or filling.
CAGE
Required: Dash bar, seat bar and 2 bars connecting them; Seat bar must be within 6" of the rear of the driver's seat. Connecting bars cannot extend past the dash and seat bars.
No down bars. Cage can be welded to sheet metal only.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
*Up to 2 batteries may be used, and must be securely fastened to the floor and covered.
*Gas tank must be secure and covered behind the driver.
*Boat tank, or something similar, is preferred.

2012 Truck regulations and rules
The 2011 Truck Rules are the SAME as the 2011 Big Car Rules with the exception of the following:
1. You MUST run truck bumpers; NO back bumpers allowed on the front.
2. CAGE can run to the wheel humps in the bed
3. Can run 4 EXTRA BOLTS in the bed, with maximum 7" plate
4. BED can be: WELDED, BOLTED, or ANY COMBINATION of both to the cab
5. NO HUMP PLATES or HUMP CHAINS
6. NO electric fans on radiator
7. Gas tank MUST be in bed of truck
8. Battery- Can be EITHER: in the cab OR bed of truck
9. ANY SIZE tire is OK
10. NO WEDGING.

2012 Lawnmower regulations and rules
SAFETY
1. Driver must have on Long-sleeve shirt and pants.
2. Helmet must be worn at all times.
3. Must have some sort of eye protection on.
GENERAL RULES:
1. The Lawn Mower must have a factory frame, no homemade frames.
2. Must be a front engine mower - no rear engines allowed.
3. All mowers must have factory stock engines.
4. Reinforcing the frame is permitted.
5. Transaxles must be factory - reinforcing or spider gears is allowed.
6. Reinforcing around the engine is allowed but can’t be outside of the hood.
7. Hoods must remain factory, hoods can be screwed down or welded. If hood is fiberglass, you can make a hood from sheet metal but it is not allowed to be any bigger than the fiberglass hood was.
8. Brakes must be in operation when pulling in for the heat race, must also have forward and reverse.
9. Gas tank must be fastened with the cap on, if it comes loose or gas leaks you will be disqualified.
10. Some sort of leg guard is mandatory before entering arena, must go from rear fender to front foot rest or frame.
11. A rear bumper is allowed but can’t extend more than four inches out from rear of mower, not the tires. If you run a bar behind the seat you cannot tie it in with the rear bumper.
12. Pulleys can be changed to increase speed.
13. Drive train modifications are allowed but must stay belt driven.
14. Wheels must be of lawn mower type. No dual wheels. Tractor-tread and cut tires are allowed tires.
15. Mower decks must be removed before entrance to pit area, plus all headlights and any other plastics must be removed.
16. Battery can be used to start the mower, but then must be taken out before entering arena.
17. The front of the frame under the grill may be strengthened for hitting but must be a smooth finish, no front bumpers allowed.
18. If driver rolls over he/she is disqualified, if any part of your body touches the ground you will be disqualified.
19. In the event of a roll-over the event will be stopped until the officials get the mower back upright.
20. Number must be somewhere on each side of the mower, number may be on helmet also.
21. All of the rules as far as when you are in the arena will be explained in the drivers meeting.
22. If mower doesn’t pass inspection or participant refuses to fix something, there will be no refunds.
23. Officials have final say, we reserve the right to check mower after derby.
