MAY 18TH AND 19TH
To all who asked me to try to put on a derby well here we go. First of all i would like to thank bob from superior grinding for helping put this derby together and dave gard for letting me take the basics out of his rules to save me some time. This is a fund raiser for the elco rescue squad . There is a little of something for everybody in this derby.
Hotels are filling fast there is something else going on in antigo this time of year so believe or not get your hotel now or you will be driving to a near by town to sleep.
TO ALL WHO HAVE OR READ THE RULES PLEASE RELOOK AT THEM OR GET A NEW COPY FOR THERE HAS BEEN SOME CORRECTIONS AND UPDATES. Hollywood motorsports was brought up with some challenges at the charity derby and did fail with some but handled others ,we have worked together to try to fix some of the glitches in rules,inspecting, and flaging for 2012. we have never ever saild we are the best promotion company out there and understand we are far from it but all we can do is take feedback and learn from our mistakes and try harder. We also understand with larger purses comes stronger responsabilitys so we have talked to some big gun rule breakers to help inspect in this derby from different areas of the country along with multipal ideas to fix the cruising and time frame of the feature.

DRIVE FOR FIVE
Throughout the years our sport has gotten out of control; moneywise, building, parts etc. Most of the derby world cannot get a grasp on keeping up with the costs and creative building so they don’t compete. It is no longer who can drive in a derby but who has the strongest casing around their motor, trans, rear end, fuel cell and radiator. This is not about driving anymore. Also from popular demand there isn’t a derby that had a closer pay scale so you have the big grand prize and second is a big drop. The rules of Drive for Five were created to bring all cars closer to the same playing field. We are trying to keep that one car from being the dominate choice.
So with these things in mind, Hollywood Motorsports has created the Drive for Five taking place on May 18th and 19th of 2012 in Antigo, WI. Four heats of twenty taking four plus a hard hitter and two consolations taking three out of each will be taking place on May 19th at 12.pm. Cars will need to be inspected Friday, May 18th at your designated or pre-approved time. We will not inspect any cars after 7p.m. No exceptions. That leaves a window from 7 a.m. to 7p.m.with registration closeing at 5pm. Your entry fee for this derby is $175. We are taking the first 80 cars paid. No exceptions. OPEN TO ANY CARS BESIDES HEARSES, 73 & OLDER IMPS
Payout structure:
• 1st place $5000
• 2nd $4000
• 3rd $3000
• 4th $2000
• 5th $1000
3 OR MORE $1000 HARD HITTING AWARDS FOR THE FEATURE
Heat money will be determined at a later date. We are striving for $200-$250 for a heat win.

Friday May 18th, 2012
Chain and go super stock rules will be in effect for Friday’s classes
We will be taking the first 36 prepaid 80’s cars for Friday May 18th. This will be a $75 entry paying $1000, $800 and $400. Two heats of 18 cars taking 8 to the feature. We will also have the midsize derby heats on Friday. We will be taking the first 40 prepaid. This also will be a $75 entry. Two heats of 20 taking 10 to the feature. We will have the midsize feature Saturday may 19th after the Drive for Five consolation .The 80s feature will be held after the 2nd heat of midsize Friday May 18th. then we will have your fair class , We will finish the night out with a band or disc jockey.

Driver’s meeting at 11a.m. We will start heat 1 at 12p.m. Heat’s 1 – 4, consolation for heat 1 and 2, and the consolation for 3 and 4 will follow with an intermission, the midsize feature then the Drive for Five feature. Finally the true quest for the Drive for Five champ. Camping is available along with electric hook ups.
