Fantastic derby although nothing went according to plan. I was hoping to give some hard hits but instead took some of the hardest hits I've experienced. If you were a driver in my heat and were wondering why was leaning on you. I was using you to stop and steer! so thanks! What I loved about this derby (my own frustrations aside) was that most of the top 6 were the hard hitters from the start of the green flag in both their heat and feature. I know what it takes to get anything out on the track these days so my respect to each driver that showed up and put the pedal down to junk their hard work.

Had alot of fun last the heats were good, the feature was slow but ended good.First time in my long career I have been warned to hit. :)Two of Indiana's best sandbaggers was behide the flags telling me to hit.I was just showing them what they look like. Good show to John and his crew best Lafayette derby in a long time. Thanks to all the RMR crew that helped put our cars back together for the feature. See everybody at Hamilton county in fresh birds. Congrats to everybody that ran and placed.

Congrats Rick on the win in the junk you brought.....lol
The only thing I see that needs to be done is to make the builds alittle more even. Fords can do all this welding on this and that but the 'Birds can't weld the trunks or add hump plates....I know of a few other 'Birds that would have flown in if that was allowed....just my 2 cents
Also thanks to the guys who bought tires from me at the show.

CONGRATS TO RICK BROWN ON HIS WIN. YOU LOST YOUR STEERING BOUT 1/2 WAY THUR FEATURE AND STILL DID A heck OF A JOB FOR THE WIN. I KNOW 485 HAMBONE HELPED TO SPIN YOU AROUND A COUPLE TIMES TO SET YOU STRAIGHT IN LINE FOR SOME MONSTER HITS.
RMR WAS REPRESENED WELL WITH #1181 LARRY EDISON , #485 HAMBONE, #200 BILLY ROSE, #679 WILL CLEVENGER, #827 DON GLENDENNING, AND OUR GREAT PIT CREW MEMBERS DID AN AWESOME JOB REPAIRING WHAT WAS BROKEN.
A GOOD SHOW JOHN & A GOOD TURN OUT. I DISAGREE WITH THE DECISION OF TELLING THE 4 GUYS TO STOP POUNDING ON STAATS. HE SHOULD HAVE MADE SOME FRIENDS PRIOR 2 STARTING. THE DRIVERS ON TRACK CAN HANDLE WHATS GOING ON, AND WERE JUST DEALING WITH THE SANDBAGGER ISSUE THAT WAS GOING ON WITH STAATS. JUST MY OPINION !

Well Garry its like this, Drivers were told in the drivers meeting #1"that team driving is allowed to a certain extent" #2 if you got someone up against the wall, you had to back off, & #3 Larry Staats Imperial had a back flat and could not get around as good as everyone else due to having a stock engine and a 6000lb car........ I hope this clears any confusion you may still have! jdf

What a great way to start off the first Lafayette derby of the year. Alot of good hard hits in the heats feature was slow at first but picked up at the end. Rick good job with only having one tie rode to steer. I will be back in July ;D

No problem with us,Larry was getting beat around like a pinball and just kept going and going and going. We had fun good builder and drivers. Will be back in July after Hamilton county. My only suggestion would be have 3 heats with that many drivers that away more drivers in feature to mix it up alittle.JMO

For those who do not know, I put this derby on for free for the fairboard to show them they could have a derby here and profit from it. The fairboard profited so we are looking forward to Saturday July 28 at 6pm. Rain date will be Sunday July 29 at 4pm.... I hope to see you there! jdf
