-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- here is the thing john i have 2 pre ran full framers built to your rules except for hump plates also no of one other one built to the same rules as the 2 others. You do have great rules and glad to see you bringing them back but i dont see what the problem is with having hump plates on these especially when most places let you have hump plates. with these cars being 1000 to 1500 dollar cars or more i no people dont want to run them once have the humps completely blow and have a junk car if you would allow hump plates on these like every other car and with all the other cars being able to do alot more like wedge the trunks all the way weld them solid have other plates kickers ect i think there will be alot more people wanting to bring full framers, like i said glad to see them back but i dont think they should be penalized for being imperials. Hope you take this into consideration my phone number is 812-870-7083 if you want to call me thanks

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I agree ^^But I can see where John is coming from I think if he allows IMPS to be built like all other cars. His guys that followed his show so far wouldn't come back is what John thinking besides us.JMO.I think John is sticking his neck out tring to bring back old iron, but it's going to be hard to do with the way fords do at all shows.I think it will be hard for a full framer to compete with the narrow track and the build rules.I hope somebody proves me wrong though.

Finally a response! As for the hump plates: I see your point if they are already on a pre-ran car. However, with the cage rule I let the imperials have, it will not junk them for awhile because they will not bend under the back doors. I did this intentionally for the above reason so you could get more then one derby out of these cars once the rear either goes straight up or goes straight in.
If you run a slip shaft it does not matter how far it goes in either direction on any car. As everyone on here knows these cars are VERY HARD in the rear. I tried to make it that all cars are even or built and constructed where they can compete with each other INSTEAD of one car dominating like other derbies across the nation.
I have let sub-frame imperials in the last two years in at Hamilton County. They have placed in the money "RMR Racing" but they did not win. This will be year 4 with all imperials allowed to run this year @tippecanoe County and Hamilton County.
I do not believe these cars are the car they once were as a dominating factor, however ,they are still very strong. But with the technology in the derby sport I believe you can win my derbies in an 80's impala.
I hope you change your mind on running those Imperials, you have 3 derbies to run in this area. 1500 for an Imperial - 500 for fifth place X 3 times is 1500 dollars. If scrap price is still up you will get another 500 for scrapping it. That is 2000 grand back in your pocket....
Plus 150 bucks in heat money, 3 five foot trophies, and if you can win the Intimidator Award an extra 100 bucks. 2250.00 and any bragging rights you may obtain! lol
I hope to see you there,
John Faucett

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i am not asking for a full framer to have the same rules as a ford or other cars but hump plates are crucial for these. I am glad to see the old iron back to like larry said but i dont think they should be penalized that much. You even said it john these prolly are not what they once were so what is the problem with just hump plates. not trying to get into it with anyone but since these are hard in the back its like saying a ford cant b hard nosed or pitched since they are hard in the front. I do like your rules john but myself i think this puts full framers at a severe disadvantage with what you can do to all the other cars it would be different if it was all full framers and they were all built the same anyone else running full framers please lets have your input on this too

I have building on this idea for a long time to let these cars run again with other promoters and no one wanted to take a chance to let them back in the game. It has taken me three years to get there so everyone doesnt run for the hills when they hear of one showing up.
My line is "baby steps before you walk" if the imperials are getting wiped out by other cars I will adjust the rules to make it more even. I watched several imperials at Jay Co. last year and they held up fine. Go to youtube and you will see what I am talking about.
If you are concerned about cutting the arch plate off on your pre-ran, then put the two 4x6 plates back over the arch that you are allowed on a pre-ran imperial. I have ran these cars for years and owned probably 20 or more. I would be more concerned over the front wheels getting knocked off then arch plates.
All cars must have a weak point or given an equal playing field. I have tried to equal the playing field so you have more choices on what to run and not just have to have a crown vic to compete. The crown vic will be the car that will be around for awhile, so lets run everything til we get to that point.
wilson51, it is too your advantage to bring your car, if it does like you think it will, then I can adjust the rules for future derbies....
Feel free to speak your mind, you will not offend me....
