DRIVERS AND PIT CREW MEMBERS
1. DRIVERS MUST BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OF AGE. DRIVERS 16 & 17 YEARS OF AGE MUST PROVIDE A NOTORIZED PERMISSION SLIP FROM THEIR LEGAL GUARDIAN TO PARTICIPATE (FORM IS ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF ENTRY FORM).
2. ALL DRIVERS MUST FILL OUT AN ENTRY FORM & RETURN TO FAIR OFFICE WITH PAYMENT. ALL DRIVERS MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE.
3. DRIVERS MAY HAVE THEIR OWN NUMBER WITH PRE-REGISTRATION. NUMBERS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS. NO DUPLICATE NUMBERS PERMITTED.
4. EVERYONE REQUESTING A PIT PASS MUST SIGN A RELEASE WAIVER. ENTRY FEE & PIT PASSES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
5. NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL OF ANY KIND ARE PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON FAIRGROUNDS. ANY DRIVER OR PIT CREW MEMBER BELIEVED TO BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED AND MAY BE PROHIBITED FROM FUTURE EVENTS.
6. NO SWITCHING OF DRIVERS AT ANY TIME.
7. ANY MISCONDUCT OR BREAKING OF THE RULES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AT THE DISCRETION OF THE OFFICIALS. OFFICIALS DECISIONS ARE FINAL!
8. DRIVER’S ENTRY FEE INCLUDES A PIT PASS. ALL OTHER PIT PASSES ARE $10.00. PIT PASSES ALLOW ENTRANCE TO FAIRGROUNDS BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE RIDES. RIDE PASSES CAN BE PURCHASED AT TICKET BOOTH FOR AN ADDITIONAL COSTS.

PREPARATION
1. ALL GLASS; INCLUDING WINDSHIELD, SIDE & REAR WINDOWS, HEAD & TAIL LIGHTS AND MARKER LIGHTS MUST BE REMOVED. ROLLING DOWN WINDOWS IS NOT PERMITTED.
2. SUNROOFS MUST BE COVERED WITH SHEET METAL & PROPERLY SECURED.
3. ALL EXTERIOR CHROME MOULDING STRIPS, HUBCAPS, EMBLEMS, WIPER ARMS, PLASTIC & FIBERGLASS GRILLES & HEADER PANELS, AND OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLES MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTERING FAIRGROUNDS. DASH BOARDS ARE OPTIONAL.
4. ALL CARPETING, INTERIOR MOULDING STRIPS, REAR SEATS, HEADLINERS, INNER DOOR PANELS, AND ANY OTHER FLAMMABLE MATERIAL MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTERING FAIRGROUNDS.
5. VEHICLES MUST BE SWEPT FREE OF ALL DEBRIS.
6. FRONT DOORS AND ROOF MUST BE PAINTED WHITE WITH CLEARLY VISIBLE, CONTRASTING NUMBERS.
INTERIOR AND BODY
1. ONE BATTERY, ANY SIZE. MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED TO FLOOR AND COVERED.
2. PUSH BUTTONS PERMITTED MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED IN PLAIN VIEW. NO LOOSE WIRING. PLAYING WITH LOOSE WIRES IS CONSIDERED SANDBAGGING!
3. ORIGINAL FUEL TANKS MUST BE REMOVED & REPLACED WITH MARINE TYPE, PLASTIC OR STEEL TANK AND SECURELY MOUNTED TO REAR FLOOR & COVERED. GAS TANK PROTECTORS ARE PERMITTED. MUST STAY WITHIN 12” OF EACH SIDE OF CAR AND ATTACH TO SEAT BAR ONLY. MUST NOT BE ATTACHED TO FRAME OR FLOOR.
4. ALL FUEL LINES MUST BE SECURELY CLAMPED & LEAK-PROOF. ANY CAR LEAKING FUEL WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS ARE PERMITTED. MUST HAVE A VISIBLE SHUT-OFF SWITCH IN PLAIN VIEW FOR SAFETY.
5. DOORS MUST BE FASTENED SHUT BY WIRE, CHAIN, BANDING, OR WELDING. MAXIMUM 3” x ¼” WIDE STRAPPING. ANY DOOR THAT COMES OPEN WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
THAT THE DRIVER’S DOOR BE REINFORCED. YOU MAY FOLD TOPS OF DOORS AND PINCH WELD THEM, SHEET METAL TO SHEET METAL ONLY!
6. ONLY RUST HOLES MAY BE PATCHED WITH NO THICKER THAN STOCK THICKNESS SHEET METAL. NO OTHER HOLES MAY BE PATCHED. YOU MUST PROVE YOUR RUST!!
7. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT A 4-POINT TYPE SAFETY CAGE BE PLACED IN DRIVER’S COMPARTMENT. BARS NOT TO EXCEED 4” DIAMETER OR SQUARE. ONE (1) HORIZONTAL BAR ACROSS DASH AND ONE (1) HORIZONTAL BAR BEHIND SEAT. TWO (2) ADJOINING BARS, PERPENDICULAR TO DASH & SEAT BAR, TO ATTACH THEM TOGETHER. END PLATES NOT TO EXCEED 12” AND CANNOT EXCEED PAST 6” PAST THE DRIVER’S SEAT. BARS MUST BE SECURELY WELDED OR WILL BE REMOVED FOR SAFETY.

10. FRONT KICKERS ARE PERMITTED IN ONE OF TWO WAYS. EITHER, KICKER FROM DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTOR OR STEEL TUBING FROM DASH BAR TO FRONT FRAME BEHIND A-ARMS. NO LARGER THAN 4” STEEL AND NO END PLATES ON FRAME. WELDS MUST BE SECURE FOR SAFETY!! ONE BAR PER SIDE.
11. RUBBER BODY MOUNTS MAY BE REPLACED WITH MAXIMUM ¾” BOLTS & 3” WASHERS AND SOLID MOUNTED TO FRAME IN FACTORY LOCATIONS ONLY! (INSIDE FRAMERAILS). NO ADDED BODY MOUNTS.
12. YOU MAY CUT WHEELWELLS FOR CLEARANCE. YOU CAN BOLT WHEEL WELLS WITH NO LARGER THAN 3/8” BOLTS AND 1” WASHERS IN FIVE (5) PLACES FER FENDER.
HOOD, DECKLID, OR TAILGATE
1. HOOD MUST HAVE A HOLE CUT TO EITHER SIDE OF CARBURETOR UNLESS USING HEADERS. HEADERS MUST POINT STRAIGHT UP.
2. HOODS MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION AND THEN FASTENED SHUT BY #9 WIRE, BANDING, BOLTS, OR CHAINS. TWO (2) STRANDS PER HOLE. MAXIMUM SIX (6) LOCATIONS. TWO (2) LOCATIONS MAY RUN FROM HOOD/DECKLID TO BUMPER.
3. IF USING BOLTS, THEY CANNOT EXCEED ¾” X 2”.
4. DECKLIDS & TAILGATES MAY BE FASTENED SHUT BY WIRE, BANDING, BOLTS, CHAIN, OR WELDING. BOLTS MUST BE SAME SIZE AS USE ON HOOD. IF WELDING, YOU MAY WELD 5” ON 5’ OFF WITH NO LARGER THAN 3”x 3” BY ¼” PLATES. DO NOT SHIFT DECKLIDS, MUST REMAIN IN STOCK LOCATION. DECKLIDS MUST HAVE A 10/12” INSPECTION HOLE. YOU MAY PRE-BEND OR WEDGE BUT MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 8/10” BETWEEN DECKLID AND TRUCK FLOOR ANY SUSPECT OF OVER-WELDING WILL RESULT IN THE USE OF TORCHES OR DISQUALIFICATION
CHASSIS AND FRAME
1. FRAME MUST NOT BE REINFORCED OR STRENGTHENED IN ANYWAY WHATSOEVER!! FRAMES WILL BE THOROUGHLY INSPECTED!!
2. FRAME SEAMS MAY BE WELDED. NO WELD WIDER THAN ¼” AND ONLY ONE WELD PASS. NO DOUBLE/TRIPLE LAYERED WELDS. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!! NOTCHING IS PERMITTED.
3. PRE-RAN FRAMES MAY BE REPAIRED AT A MINIMUM. EACH TEAR OR RIP MAY BE WELDED WITH A NEAR ¼” WIDE WELD, 1 PASS PER TEAR.
4. TRAILER HITCHES MUST BE REMOVED.
5. NO SPECIAL BUMPERS. BUMPERS MUST BE AUTOMOTIVE TYPE. DEC BUMPERS ARE PERMITTED. BUMPERS MAY BE WELDED SOLID TO FRAME. BUMPER SEAMS MAY BE WELDED. BUMPERS MAY BE TRIMMED.
6. A CHAIN MUST BE WRAPPED AROUND BUMPER TO FRAME. CHAINS MAY BE BOLTED OR WELDED TO FRAME.
7. BUMPERS MUST BE AT LEAST 18” OFF THE GROUND. BOTTOM OF BUMPER TO GROUND.
SUSPENSION
1. ONLY FACTORY STOCK SUSPENSION, FACTORY MOUNTED, FACTORY LEAF PACKS WILL BE PERMITTED. NO ALTERING OF STOCK LEAF SPRINGS.
2. NO LEAF CONVERSIONS.
3. FACTORY LEAF CARS MAY USE 4 CLAMPS PER SIDE (2 FRONT OF AXLE 2 BACK).
4. FRONT AND BACK SUSPENSION MAY BE LOCKED AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT REINFORCE THE FRAME!!!

3. HAND THROTTLES PERMITTED.SHIFTING LINKAGE MAY BE ALTERED.
4. AIR CLEANER MANDATORY. NO ETHER ALLOWED.
5. TRANSMISSION COOLERS ARE PERMITTED AND MUST BE PLACED IN DRIVER’S COMPARTMENT. ALL LINES MUST BE SECURELY CLAMPED & LEAK-PROOF.
6. DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTORS ARE PERMITTED. PULLEY PROTECTORS & ENGINE CRADLES PERMITTEDVAS WELL. KICKERS FROM DP TO DASHBAR PERMITTED.

TIRES, RADIATOR, AND FAN
1. MAXIMUM 16” TIRES. NO LIQUID IN TIRES. TUBES ACCEPTABLE. DOUBLE TIRES PERMITTED.

3. RADIATOR MUST REMAIN IN STOCK LOCATION. COOLANT MUST BE FLUSHED. WATER ONLY!
4. STEEL CLUTCH FANS MUST BE COVERED. ELECTRIC FANS PERMITTED.
SAFETY AND RUNNING
1. EACH DRIVER/CAR IS ALLOWED ONE (1) RE-INSPECTION.
2. ONLY DRIVER & ONE (1) PIT CREW MEMBER PERMITTED DURING INSPECTION.
3. ALL CARS MUST COMPLY TO RULES. OFFICIALS DECISIONS ARE FINAL!!
4. DOT OR SNELL APPROVED HELMETS MANDATORY. SAFETY BELTS MUST BE WORN. LONG PANTS, LONG SLEEVES, & EYE PROTECTION ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
5. A WORKING 2.5 lb FIRE EXTINGUISHER MUST BE MOUNTED & PROPERLY SECURED WITHIN DRIVER’S REACH.
6. HEATS WILL BE DIVIDED UP ACCORDINGLY. THE TRUMBULL CO. FAIR DEMOLITION DERBY COMMITTEE WILL ASSIGN HEATS. NO CHANGING OF DRIVERS OR HEATS.
7. NO DELIBERATE DRIVER’S DOOR HITS!!
8. DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR UNLESS INSTRUCTED BY TRACK PERSONNEL.
9. ANY DOOR THAT COMES OPEN WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
10. ANY CARS LEAKING FUEL OR SMOKING EXCESSIVELY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AS WELL. BOUNDARIES MUST BE MAINTAINED. ALL CARS MUST HAVE DEPENDABLE BRAKES.
11. WHEN HORN SOUNDS ALL CARS MUST COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IMMEDIATELY.
12. ALL FEATURE CARS ARE SUBJECT TO RE-INSPECTION.
13. ALL DRIVERS MUST ATTEND DRIVER’S MEETING PRIOR TO EVENT.
14. ANY CAR NOT REMOVED FROM FAIRGROUNDS WITHIN 24 HOURS OF DERBY WILL BECOME PROPERTY OF THE TRUMBULL CO. FAIR.
15. DRIVERS $100 PROTEST FEE PAYABLE TO T.C.A.S. IS REQUIRED TO CONTEST ANOTHER CAR. PROTEST MUST BE DONE BEFORE DRIVER’S MEETING. FEE WILL BE REFUNDABLE IF CAR IS FOUND TO BE INELIGIBLE.
ENTERING GROUNDS AND DEMO GATE
1. CARS TO ENTER AND LEAVE THE GROUNDS AT GATE A ONLY. (BAZETTA RD. ENTRANCE)
2. OBSERVE THE MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT OF 5 M.P.H. OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
3. DEMO GATE WILL OPEN AT 12 NOON AND CLOSE ONE (1) HOUR BEFORE START TIME. INSPECTION CLOSES (1) HOUR BEFORE START OF EVENT!!

4. BUMPER SWAPS ARE PERMITTED. MUST BE AUTOMOTIVE FACTORY TYPE.
5. CABS, FENDERS, BEDS, & FRAME CAN ALL BE MISMATCHED TO MAKE. (EX:FORD WITH DODGE BED, ETC.)

4. ALL FUEL LINES MUST BE SECURELY CLAMPED & LEAK-PROOF. ANY CAR LEAKING FUEL WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS ARE PERMITTED. MUST HAVE A VISIBLE SHUT-OFF SWITCH IN PLAIN VIEW FOR SAFETY.
5. DOORS MUST BE FASTENED SHUT BY WIRE, CHAIN, BANDING, OR WELDING. MAXIMUM 3” x ¼” WIDE STRAPPING. ANY DOOR THAT COMES OPEN WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
THAT THE DRIVER’S DOOR BE REINFORCED. YOU MAY FOLD TOPS OF DOORS AND PINCH WELD THEM, SHEET METAL TO SHEET METAL ONLY!
6. ONLY RUST HOLES MAY BE PATCHED WITH NO THICKER THAN STOCK THICKNESS SHEET METAL. NO OTHER HOLES MAY BE PATCHED. YOU MUST PROVE YOUR RUST!!
7. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT A 4-POINT TYPE SAFETY CAGE BE PLACED IN DRIVER’S COMPARTMENT. BARS NOT TO EXCEED 4” DIAMETER OR SQUARE. ONE (1) HORIZONTAL BAR ACROSS DASH AND ONE (1) HORIZONTAL BAR BEHIND SEAT. TWO (2) ADJOINING BARS, PERPENDICULAR TO DASH & SEAT BAR, TO ATTACH THEM TOGETHER. END PLATES NOT TO EXCEED 12” AND CANNOT EXCEED PAST 6” PAST THE DRIVER’S SEAT. BARS MUST BE SECURELY WELDED OR WILL BE REMOVED FOR SAFETY.
8. ROLL-OVER BAR IS PERMITTED AND MUST BE ATTACHED TO SAFETY CAGE ONLY!
9. MUST HAVE 2 WINDSHIELD BARS FLAT OR BAR STOCK NO BIGGER THAN 4”. YOU MAY HAVE ONE BAR IN REAR WINDOW AND MAY ATTACH TO ROLL-OVER BAR OR ROOF.
10. FRONT KICKERS ARE PERMITTED IN ONE OF TWO WAYS. EITHER, KICKER FROM DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTOR OR STEEL TUBING FROM DASH BAR TO FRONT FRAME BEHIND A-ARMS. NO LARGER THAN 4” STEEL AND NO END PLATES ON FRAME. WELDS MUST BE SECURE FOR SAFETY!! ONE BAR PER SIDE.
11. RUBBER BODY MOUNTS MAY BE REPLACED WITH MAXIMUM ¾” BOLTS & 3” WASHERS AND SOLID MOUNTED TO FRAME IN FACTORY LOCATIONS ONLY! (INSIDE FRAMERAILS). NO ADDED BODY MOUNTS.
12. YOU MAY CUT WHEELWELLS FOR CLEARANCE. YOU CAN BOLT WHEEL WELLS WITH NO LARGER THAN 3/8” BOLTS AND 1” WASHERS IN FIVE (5) PLACES FER FENDER.
HOOD, DECKLID, OR TAILGATE
1. HOOD MUST HAVE A HOLE CUT TO EITHER SIDE OF CARBURETOR UNLESS USING HEADERS. HEADERS MUST POINT STRAIGHT UP.
2. HOODS MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION AND THEN FASTENED SHUT BY #9 WIRE, BANDING, BOLTS, OR CHAINS. TWO (2) STRANDS PER HOLE. MAXIMUM SIX (6) LOCATIONS. TWO (2) LOCATIONS MAY RUN FROM HOOD/DECKLID TO BUMPER.
3. IF USING BOLTS, THEY CANNOT EXCEED ¾” X 2”.
4. DECKLIDS & TAILGATES MAY BE FASTENED SHUT BY WIRE, BANDING, BOLTS, CHAIN, OR WELDING. BOLTS MUST BE SAME SIZE AS USE ON HOOD. IF WELDING, YOU MAY WELD 5” ON 5’ OFF WITH NO LARGER THAN 3”x 3” BY ¼” PLATES. DO NOT SHIFT DECKLIDS, MUST REMAIN IN STOCK LOCATION. DECKLIDS MUST HAVE A 10/12” INSPECTION HOLE. YOU MAY PRE-BEND OR WEDGE BUT MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 8/10” BETWEEN DECKLID AND TRUCK FLOOR ANY SUSPECT OF OVER-WELDING WILL RESULT IN THE USE OF TORCHES OR DISQUALIFICATION
CHASSIS AND FRAME
1. FRAME MUST NOT BE REINFORCED OR STRENGTHENED IN ANYWAY WHATSOEVER!! FRAMES WILL BE THOROUGHLY INSPECTED!!
2. FRAME SEAMS MAY BE WELDED. NO WELD WIDER THAN ¼” AND ONLY ONE WELD PASS. NO DOUBLE/TRIPLE LAYERED WELDS. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!! NOTCHING IS PERMITTED.
3. PRE-RAN FRAMES MAY BE REPAIRED AT A MINIMUM. EACH TEAR OR RIP MAY BE WELDED WITH A NEAR ¼” WIDE WELD, 1 PASS PER TEAR.
4. TRAILER HITCHES MUST BE REMOVED.
5. NO SPECIAL BUMPERS. BUMPERS MUST BE AUTOMOTIVE TYPE. DEC BUMPERS ARE PERMITTED. BUMPERS MAY BE WELDED SOLID TO FRAME. BUMPER SEAMS MAY BE WELDED. BUMPERS MAY BE TRIMMED.
6. A CHAIN MUST BE WRAPPED AROUND BUMPER TO FRAME. CHAINS MAY BE BOLTED OR WELDED TO FRAME.
7. BUMPERS MUST BE AT LEAST 18” OFF THE GROUND. BOTTOM OF BUMPER TO GROUND.

4. DOT OR SNELL APPROVED HELMETS MANDATORY. SAFETY BELTS MUST BE WORN. LONG PANTS, LONG SLEEVES, & EYE PROTECTION ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
5. A WORKING 2.5 lb FIRE EXTINGUISHER MUST BE MOUNTED & PROPERLY SECURED WITHIN DRIVER’S REACH.
6. HEATS WILL BE DIVIDED UP ACCORDINGLY. THE TRUMBULL CO. FAIR DEMOLITION DERBY COMMITTEE WILL ASSIGN HEATS. NO CHANGING OF DRIVERS OR HEATS.
7. NO DELIBERATE DRIVER’S DOOR HITS!!
