Well I usually never get a stock throttle cable with any of my cars that I buy and I'm really not into using an engine mounted pedal just because of personal preference. I've tried the cheap-o Mr. Gasket ones from parts stores with three different types of failure throughout the years. Anyone use a different brand of cable that works better?

not sure where you live but pull-a-parts....the cables are everywhere (provided someone didnt cut it to pull a carb or intake)
you can also purchase the cable in bulk, conduit for the cable and cable ends/pins to fit whatever you want
u can make any cable fit anything (within reason)

Chicken wire/ mechanic wire works well. That's what I used to use before I got a engine mounted pedal. You don't have to worry about it breaking and you can make it fit anything just twist it around the carb and around te arm on the pedal

Take and double strand it and have your buddy hold one end and put the other end in a drill and strand it together.

we run 3/16'' cable. pull the stock peg on the linkage on the carb and loop it through the hole. double clamp. drill a hole in the arm on the gas pedal itself, loop through and double clamp. just make sure when you set it the pedal is to the floor and the carb is wide open. otherwise you will most likely brake the throttle in the carb. the other thing you should do with this idea though is run a hand throttle for when she starts nosing. we havent had a huge problem with it yet but you can definitely tell she doesnt open wide after a solid run. just re-adjust and run again. and the whole thing will cost less than $10.

hey does any one know what cable gard is useing for his floor mounted pedal?? I built my own pedal then bought on from Gard. After taking into account the cost of the cable, the time spent fabbing it, I would just order one. It's within $50.
