2G Float help

Need help setting the float on a fresh rebuild of a 2G. This is my first time inside one of these and when I researched online, the answers were all over the place. I have the plastic type float and when I measure float level I am at 13/32 with the gasket on.



And when I measure float drop I am only at 29/32.



Also, not sure if someone else has been into the carb before I got it, but it is missing the retainer and ball in the red circle. The rebuild kit has the ball but no retainer to use. I don't think it does anyways as I don't know what the retainer looks like. Are these supposed to be missing on some models?

Make sure you use the correct size ball for that accelerator pump. I put the bigger on in once by accident and it got STUCK! Just a friendly reminder.

I don't ever remember there being a retainer clip on the bottom of those accelerate pumps/accelerator pump check ball.

I have the correct ball in it. I talked to a carb guy and he helped me with the float adjustment and he stated that the retainer isn't necessary.

Glad you got it figured out. It's been a while since I had one apart but I was fairly confident you didn't need it.
