Well first off the reason I did respond in the first place was you singled out DI when there were more parties involved in it.
No one was calling you a monster. As you said "some people only read what they want to read. Thats why in my comment I posted "I don't think for one minute any person I have ever met in the derby community is that cold blooded to not want to express sorrow in a tragedy such as this one". That would also apply to you even if it isn't sorrow being expressed.
On the response you said "im sure it has something to do with lawyering up". However you then attack there religous views and call them gutless. If you was sure of the lawyering up, why add the insults?
Now I know the finger pointing and people trying to put the blame off on someone will come in do time. My whole point was let them at least put the man to rest before unleashing the blame game and the I told you so. It is the respectful thing to do for Gary and his family.

So where were you a few years ago when a driver burnt to death in Macomb IL? You were not asking for stiffer rules on fuel ling connections. You are biased yousoldout, there is no doubt about that. This could have happened to ANY promoter at ANY venue. To single out Dave Gard and saying I told you so is stupid. Lets worry more about the wife who has no husband, the children with no father, the friends who lost a truly great friend. We all take chances when we enter any sport, and fluke things due happen. Maybe a halo bar would have helped, maybe not. Doesn't matter at this point. Lets worry about the family and give Gary some respect, he has earned that

this isn't a 'derby icons' problem....it's an every promoter, fairboard, venue problem
and
talking about the issues that surround a tragedy DOES NOT equal lack of sympathy for the loss of someone in an avoidable accident...i say that cause someone's gonna read this and go "how dare you"....
and
this isn't about hate....it's not about you me or them....stop reading what isn't there......
it's about whats right.....

the 'it could have happened to any promoter' is pure BS....it didnt happen to any other promoter...it happened to these guys...thats a fact and issue that has to be explored and questions need asked.....

I can only imagine how hard the crowd was cheering the moment the rollover happened.. I've yet to witness a rollover where the crowd didn't roar for the other driver to stay on the gas... This is what people want to see... as sick as it may be... My stomach turns every time I see a rollover, a car run up on another, or something fly into the crowd because as a driver, I realize the probability of tragedy...Promotors have been too worried about keeping the crowd happy for way too long.. It's about the drivers and driver's safety.. I've steadily seen less and less water on the tracks in the course of ten years cause "the crowd wants to see cars bend." And as we all know, hard cars need more speed to bend... I'm not saying track condition is what caused this horrific accident, but adding the horsepower, and harder builds that have evolved in the last 5-6 years, something was bound to happen.... This whole deal makes me sick and my heart goes out to everyone who was involved in this accident...

I am actally surprised this doesnt happen more often. The way some promotors are letting these cars be built. Watch vics pound all day long and never move. Trucks with waist hi bumpers. Cars bulldoged to no end. Cars are supposed to bend when hit. If the cars dont bend the driver will. Go back to stock on stock and mandatory full cage with halo bar. And get rid of the Mad Dog awards and just make everybody hit and bend.
I personally have spent my last nickle with DI, years and years of wasting weekends to watch shows that end up having controversy at almost each show. Sick of it like alot of people. Money has ruined another good idea, like usual.

How can you blame DI for not having a mandated roll ever bar in their rules when this derby didn't even use DI rules? This was the CFD's derby using their rules not DI i was told by a friend of mine that ran trucks up there with gary that they were supposed to use cayugas rules but for some reason did not with the trucks, they thanked him for coming and put a stick on his truck and that was the extent of the inspection |
