2013 Derby Rules:
Out Law Mowers
1. You may run front and rear bumpers.
2. Must have leg protectors.
3. No protecting tires. They must be open!
4.Please shorten exhaust pipes for safety reasons!
5.Everything else is fair game!
6.Please make your mower safe!
Compact Stock/V-8 Stock
1.There will be no welding on cars except driver’s side door, rear end gears, and motor mounts.
2.You may run inside door bars, one down each side, one in front above steering column, one behind seat within 6 inches of the seat.
3.You may run gas tank protector, must be no wider than 24”, must not go beyond rear hump.
4.No tractor tires allowed, must be D.O.T. tires only.
5.All cars must have drivers seat belt.
6.Must have stock suspension. NO EXCEPTIONS!
7.Hood and trunk may be wired in 6 places. It must be wired to body ONLY!
8.Doors may be wired or bolted shut.
9.Must wear D.O.T. approved helmet.
10.No wedging back of car.
11.All cars will be drilled in frame rails, two holes, front and back. NO EXCEPTIONS
12.Maximum wheelbase for compacts is 109” but must be unibody car ONLY!
13.Two strands of wire per hole, 12 gauge wire only.
14.You may run header pipe! Otherwise cut exhaust off at the bottom end of the down pipe.
Compact Welded
1.2011 Smash It Rules apply
2.You may plate rear humps on cars maximum 22” only
3.You may run any type tire
4.You may run two kickers down to the frame on your bar behind the seat
5.Gas tank protectors must be no wider than 24”, no farther back than the inside rear hump. 11”hump plates on leaf spring cars
6.Bumper can be reinforced on the inside
7.You may run all thread shocks, maximum height 22” front and rear to bottom of the bumper. You may weld “A” frames on front.
8.Tires may be doubled or loaded!
9.Coil cars must remain coil
10.You may run all thread for shocks 1” maximum
11.You may run an angle iron on top of the radiator support
12.If you patch frame rail you must have a picture of the spot
13.Car height must be 22” maximum, 16” minimum to bottom of bumper
14.You may plate sway bar on the outside 4” maximum
15.You may run kicker from front bar to behind strut tower on frame
16.If you run a car with a sunroof make sure you run a support to Max, two inches square in the middle or drivers side for strength above you head in the sunroof hole
17.If pre ran car you may plate kink up to six inches
18.107” wheel base maximum, unibody car only!
19.You may run two down kickers to center hump behind seat on the rear bar
V-8 Welded

2.You may run two kickers in the front from radiator support to the frame, must not extend any further than 16 inches from the radiator support
3.You may run any type tire
4.You may weld or run all thread to hold the suspension on front, just all thread on rear for car height 1” maximum
5.You may run leaf springs or coils on rear, no more than 9 leafs per side
6.You can hump plate rear frame up to 22”, 11” from center of wheel well each way or 11” on leaf car
7.You may run kickers inside of car from the frame on floor to back seat bar
8.Gas tank protectors must be no wider than 24”, no farther back than inside of rear hump
9.You may run transmission coolers inside of car but they must be fastened shut
10.If pre ran car you may plate front where kinked if it has been bent up to 6 inches
11.You may cap where coil springs sets no wider than 8 inches on lower A frame!
12.No loading or plating the rest of the frame anywhere, we will be checking!
13.No doubling panels, all doors must have top open
14.If car is wedged it must have 6 inches between floor and trunk lid
15.If station wagons are ran the back door must have top open to see in
16.Door bars may have corner gussets
17.Please paint numbers where we can read them
18.Maximum height 24 inches to bottom of the bumper
