I'm looking for some advice on how to fix this little "design flaw" on my pre-ran 1978 Grand Marquis and keep it within my rules. Rules are basic bolt and chain/nine wire (was unlimited nine wire but no nine wire outside the frame rails). Stock bumper for make and stock mounts have to be used. You can collapse the shocks. I can have two, single wraps of chain but no welding on the frame or the bumper basically. As you can see the I-beam went up and to the passenger's side. The upper radiator support has also pushed back about six inches. The front of the fenders have always looked like they are rolling down since I've had the car. I've never figured this out. On the radiator support I was going to pull it back out and suck the hood behind it. I saw this on a 76 LTD this year and it seemed to work. As for the bumper I'm open for suggestions as this is my first full frame Ford platform. Thanks Barclay Wilt

Get the bumper closer to the core support weld frame directly to the bumper
