Pending on what bumper you use, Depends on how far you could cut back IMO...I cut back couple inchs further then i normally would if useing a pointy! Alot of factors come into play when shorting the front of these..just dont go to cutting!.. How far does your bumper brackets go back? How far do you want them to go back? I do alot of measuring when i build my cars! I make everything try and flow together!

this is one of those can or will it pass tech things... some rules dont say a thing about this.... like someone else said if the rules say all mounts to remain in the factory spot then it limits how you can do this.... buzzkill that is definately a 98-02 frame.... the little hole by the gearbox mounting bolts is a dead give away...

80s frames don't have the outside gusset/bend by the box holes, its a welded down set of 80s arms on a 98-02whole frame...man that's a pile cut off...put the core support on top the box or what? Using a 03+ sized radiator im guessing

sooooooo....... even though the frame is shortened, how do we keep the kinks in front of the gear box, and the crush boxs from collapsing? i just dont see how this helps..... Ive never had a car bend up there anyway.

Ive never had a car bend up there anyway. Good, bad or otherwise the theory is about leverage, not cutting the weak part off of the frame. Same theory as when the put a pipe on the end of a wrench to break a bolt loose, more leverage.

We usually cut ours off right at the front mount. Never went any further than that and have had good results out of it.
