I bought a Gropp engine, I believe it's a Vortec 350. I don't have anything in the lin of a power steering pump/ bracket that will fit it, and can't seem to find an aftermarket or performance place that sells anything close to what I need. Should I just go without power steering or does anyone have a suggestion on what to do?? Wondered if anyone has ran without p/s and liked it or hated it. I'm building a '74 Impala and have always ran p/s pumps but the holes on this engine are so much different!

If I had to run a GM without power steering I would at the very least bolt on a manual box. A Mopar I could rock without power steering. If you choose to run without power steering please get a steering wheel with a solid center. I borke my left thumb last year and my brother broke his right thumb. Both at the same show Later Brandon

Do the heads have accessory holes? You should be able to find what you need at a salvage yard or bbr can set you up with a block mount or head mounted set up. Ive lost power steering and it sucks. If you like your wrists and fingers you will run it. Have some friends that didnt run power steering back in the day and always seemed to break more steering parts.

Junk yard was about the last option, Ihad never run without p/s so wasn't sure if it would work. I'll give them a try, and yes it has the access holes in the head. Thanks guys, your feedback is much appreciated!!
