Just curious if anyone has pictures of some frames they have shaped by hammering, how did it work for you? Any thoughts or ideas on the subject.

i have heard of it, and i think it iwll make the frame somewhat tougher, its like creasing fenders but on frame rails, kinda wicked is my 2 cents

Many promoters including ourselves are not allowing this anymore. Any thoughts for or against doing this?

i say let it be legal, it is not cheating! You are NOT adding metal, kickers, pinning, or stuffing the frame. It's all geometry, and let those that have figured it out endulge the payoff. besides cars last longer giving the promotor, and the fans a better show, and come on be honest when u know ur car can give a good hit most will do just that. I understand where ur coming from not allowing it too, however i simply just disagree. Now if your running a stock show I would say no, stock shows are more for fun and those just beginning, let them learn the ropes and enjoy it w/out those that have done this for many years killing them off and out of the sport.

In my opinion it should be aloud. It doesnt add any metal and anyone can do it. I just dont see why you would try to limit people from beating on their car with a hammer.

I say why not? heck if you can weld a package tray in, this is no more major than that! And anyone can do it with basic tools and time so why is it a big deal to the promotors? I understand completely changing the shape of the frame like making an I beam or triangle but just squaring them off isn't as big of a change. EYE CANDY Start it with a hammer and chase it with a iar tool hooked up to a good compressor.

That is the after pics MR.PERFECT Thats why im dead set against putting pics of anything on here....because some people dont know everything
Creasing the frame makes a difference but it also makes it 10 times as hard to inspect a car So i totally understand promoters that dont allow it anymore but if its allowed im hammering the heck outta mine 😁

Have you had problems with spliting the factory welds? The 80s GM I did shaped ok without seam welding, but the 70s buick I tried started splitting the factory welds. No seam welding allowed around here. I used hammers to do it.

HAMMER THE SIDES, THEN THE TOP, BACK AND FORTH, FLATTENING THE EDGES TO 90 DEGREES. NOT ROCKET SCIENCE FOLKS...... CERTAINLY NOT WORTH 500 BUCKS THAT DPI CHARGES......
