DEMOLITION DERBY RULES
Drivers must be 18 years of age. Drivers age 16 and 17, and pit entrants under age 18 require a signed release from a parent or legal guardian. Proof of age is mandatory if requested: be prepared.
Officials reserve the right to accept or reject any and all entries.
No obscene wording or photos allowed.
Only drivers, mechanics, etc. who sign an insurance release will be allowed in pits.
1. Hearses, limos, Chrysler Imperials, Imperial subframes, suicide door Lincolns, and SUVs are not allowed. 80s and up wagons are allowed.
2. All cars must be stripped of all glass, body molding, door handles, and all exterior lighting. The interior and trunk area must be cleaned of anything that could injure driver during derby.
3. The fuel tank must be removed from car. A 5-gallon boat fuel tank or other safe type of tank can be used and must be relocated to the inside of car, covered, and must be secured to prevent it from coming loose during the derby.
4. The battery must be removed and relocated to the inside of the car, covered, and secured to prevent it from coming loose during the derby.
5. The radiator must remain in the stock location, or can be removed completely. Electric fans are allowed.
6. Frames can be notched. No hump plates. No extra braces. No concrete to be added. No fresh paint.
7. There is to be no welding on the frame other than specified below. You can not pinch frame. No distributor protector.
8. Body bushings must be factory. Must be factory bolts or same size bolts.
9. All doors must be chained, welded, or wired closed to prevent from opening during the derby. Metal straps can be welded to the door seams with a 3 inch wide by 3/16 inch maximum. Round metal rods may be used in the door seams with a 5/16 inch maximum.
10. Trunks can be welded shut but must have a 12-inch hole cut for inspection. Metal straps can be used with 1 inch width by 3/16 inch maximum.
11. Hoods must have hole cut above carburetor. Hoods can be bolted in four places maximum with 1 inch maximum diameter bolts or all thread. Metal plates between nut and hood must have 6x6 by 1/4 maximum.
12. You may remove front two mounts and replace with 1 inch all thread and only a spacer. It can start at the body mount and go through the core support using the all thread for hood bolts. The spacer can be 3 inch maximum. The eye of the mount to the frame and add a 3 inch washer to the bottom of the mount. You may run your all thread through a piece of 2 inch tubing inside core support to protect the all thread, but can not be welded to the core support.
13. Four point cage, no larger than 4 inch pipe or 4x4 tubing. Cars can have roll-over bar, but must be straight up and down. Rear end protectors are allowed, and must be contoured to the rear end and in no way can be made to strengthen car. Can not be connected to fram, no kickers, and can not exceed behind driver's seat more than 12 inches.
14. No gas tank protectors.
15. No special bumpers or trailer hitches allowed.
16. Bumpers can be welded or chained to prevent from coming off during derby, however metal straps may not be used to weld bumper to truck or fender, also bumper can not be directly welded to fender or trunk or any car body panel. If bumper is welded, no metal can be added. If chained, chain links must remain unwelded. Bumper brackets can be removed and bumper welded to frame, but no extra metal can be added. Bumper skins (chrome), brackets assemble, shock housings, and shocks may be welded. Bumper shocks may be welded, bolted, or chained on.
17. Bumper heights are 24 inches maximum in the front and no lower than 15 inches in the rear.
18. Slider drive shafts are allowed.
19. Oil and transmission coolers allowed.
20. Motor and rear end swaps allowed.
21. Suspension: can run solid suspension. No 3/4 ton rear ends. 5 lugs maximum. Changing from coil to leaf springs is not allowed. Factory leaf spring cars allowed. No adding to leaf springs or welding rear springs.
22. Front A-arms can be strapped with two pieces of metal 2 inches by 4 inches.
23. No reinforcement of front end, rear end, radiator support, fenders, or anywhere on car.
24. If it doesn't say you can do it in these rules, then don't do it.
25. May have one bar in windshield attaching to roof and wiper housing only. No to support any other thing.

THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. JUST BECAUSE IT IS NOT LISTED IN THESE RULES DOESN'T MAKE IT LEGAL. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT A RULE, CONTACT US BEFORE YOU DO IT. NOT HAVING A COPY OF RULES IS NOT AN EXCUSE. ALL CARS MUST PASS INSPECTION BEFORE BEING ALLOWED IN DERBY.
