*ATTENTION ALL DRIVERS*
All hood bolts, chains, cables, latches etc. MUST be removed before entering inspection area to allow inspectors to see underhood, and help to speed up the inspection process.
ATT. BIG CAR DRIVERS
There will be NO!!! added metal underhood anywhere!!! This means inside fenders and behind or under core support also. If you have it, be ready to cut it out!!! or you will NOT RUN!!!
NO Kicking Forward of front downtubes on Cages will be allowed, All parts of Cage Must remain behind the firewall. You will NOT RUN!!!
NOTHING and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will be allowed inside of the frame. If we find it, you will not be allowed to "Knip" metal in two. You WILL NOT RUN!!!
ATT. COMPACT DRIVERS
To help clarify on some recent questions about the rules, you CAN add unlimited support from the firewall forward ONLY. All caging or plating must be on the inside of the engine compatment only. No added support on the outside of the body will be permitted.

Derby Rules and Regulations
The following rules and regulations are official and shall govern all participants, family members, crew members, and anyone else involved with the event listed above. All rules are to be strictly enforced and adhered to by all event officials. Decisions of event officials are FINAL NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Driver Regulations:
1. All participants must be 16 yrs of age or older. Must be able to provide proof of age at request of officials.
2. All persons MUST sign entry form, insurance waiver, and release form.
3. Registered drivers MUST drive the car he or she has registered into the event.
4. Possesion of Alcoholic Beverages or Illegal Substances on Fairgrounds is prohibited.
5. No Obsene Gestures or Profanity is to be displayed on any vehicle involved with event. Thank You for your consideration.
6. All participants MUST wear helmet and seat belt. Protective Gear such as Safety Glasses, Goggles, Neck Braces etc. are all optional.
7. Officials reserve the right to accept or reject any and all entries at any point of the event.
8. All Inspection and Registratrion procedures will be made clear upon arrival to fairgrounds, your cooperation will be appreciated.
Full Size Car Regulations:
1. Any American Made Hardtop Automobile will be permitted, except ALL Chyrsler Imperials, Hearses, Limos or 4x4 Vehicles. NO Substituting or Altering of any Imperial Sub Frame to ANY other make or model car will be permitted.
2. All cars must have bright legible numbers on both Driver and Passenger Doors.
3. All windshields, windows, all glass period! Is to be completely removed from vehicle before entering the fairgrounds.
4. All fiberglass covers, nose caps, trim, molding, mirrors etc. are all to be removed before entering fairgrounds. All cars are to be swept clean of all trash or debris. Absolutely NO Unsecured objects inside of car will be permitted.
5. All cars must have an approved seatbelt, and have adequate brakes before start of event.
6. ONE Automotive Battery of any type is permitted (Heavy Equipment Batteries are ok). Battery is to be relocated to front passengers side compartment. Battery MUST be securely fastened down and covered.
7. Factory Gas Tanks MUST be completely removed from car. One 5 gallon METAL marine style gas tank is to be relocated to the center of the back floorboard of car. Tank MUST be securely fastened down and completely covered. Homemade Tanks are permitted as long as tank and all lines and fittings are completely free of leaks. This rule is at the officials discretion.
8. Radiators MUST remain in stock location. Any automotive type radiator permitted. Radiator may be mounted by straps, wire or the original hardware. Spray Foam applied around radiator is permitted. NO Homemade supports or trays to protect or reinforce radiator will be permitted.
9. Transmission Coolers are permitted and may be mounted behind drivers seat of car. Cooler MUST be securely fastened to rear cross bar or Floorboard with all lines and fittings securely tied back and covered.
10. Any OEM Automobile type bumper is permitted on any car (different makes or models ok.) No metal to be added to bumper to provide reinforcement, however welding and adding of metal to attach bumper to frame is permitted. Metal straps or gussets MUST NOT be more than 1/4" thick and MUST NOT extend beyond 4" of frame horn. Welding and making modifications to factory brackets is permitted.
11. Hoods must be secured down by Bolting, Wiring, or Chaining, NO WELDING. Hood may be secured in 6 places of the drivers choice. All-Thread or Bolts up to 1" Dia. are permitted. Angle Plates from hood to top of fender are permitted. Angle must be no more than 1/4" thick and 8 in. in length. Two bolts per plate maximum. Hood Plates may be 6" by 6" wide and 1/4" thick max. Bolting or Welding inner fender to outer fender skin is permitted.
12. If car does not have headers running out of hood, then Two 4" by 4" Holes must be cut in hood on each side of engine in case of fire.
13. All doors must be securely welded, chained or wired shut. (Welding is highly Recommended). Doors may be welded all the way around if desired. Door straps can be up to 4" wide and 1/4" thick, tucking down doors is permitted. Drivers door may be reinforced across door on outside with a maximum of two pieces of flat plate no more than 4" wide and 3/8" thick and must not extend no more than 4" of either door seam. ALL Door Panels must be removed from car, inside of all doors must be visible to the officials.
14. Trunk lids must be securely fastened shut by welding, bolting, chaining or wiring in 8 places max. All-Thread or bolts of up to 1" dia. max may be ran from trunk lid to frame in 4 places max. Trunks may be welded all the way around is desired. Welding of TWO metal straps from trunk lid to rear bumper is permitted. Straps must be Flat steel plate only and must be no more than 4" wide 12" in length and no more than 1/4" thick. Rear seats must be completely removed to allow access to trunk area. Wagons must be emptied to the floorboards. Inside of rear hatch or tailgate on all wagons must be visible to the officials.
15. Same rules apply for rear bumpers as fo for front bumpers see rule #10. (And yes this means any automobile type bumper also).
16. Suspension may be welded, bolted, or chained solid in Front Rear suspension may also be mounted solid if desired. NO Converting from coil springs to leaf springs will be allowed unless... *(New Rule)*. Any car 1980 or newer now has the option of running either Hump Plates or Leaf Springs on rear. (NOT BOTH).
17. Any automobile type rear differential may be used, this includes Full Floater 3/4 ton Truck Axles. However rear end must be fabricated to work with vehicles factory suspension. See Rul
18. Only 16" tires or smaller are permitted. NO studded tires on rear (front ok), NO split rims are permitted.
19. All Body Mount Bushings may be removed and mounted solid using All-Thread, Bolts, and Washers.
20. A Four Point Cage max. inside of car is recommended but not mandatory, Cage may be fabricated out of any type of steel up to 3/8" max. thickness. Cage may connect with and be welded to frame at FOUR points only. Cage MUST not at any point extend no more than 12" beyond the back of drivers seat, and MUST not extend beyond Firewall at any point. One single roll-bar will be permitted to be ran over top of car, but MUST not connect to car at any other point.
21. Rear Frame Humps (Over Rear Axle) May be reinforced with flat steel plate ONLY. This means no channel, angle etc. Frame Hump may be plated on OUTSIDE ONLY. Plate being used may be 4" wide max. and 3/8" thick max. Plate may extend a maximum of 4" beyond each end of hump. Plate MUST! run in uniform with frame, NO plating straight across over rear axle will be permitted!!
22. Upper and Lower Frame Seams can be welded. NO other plating, doubling or reinforcing of frame will be permitted. NO stuffing frames with anything will be permitted. All Factory holes in frame MUST remain open for inspection.
23. BROKEN frames on pre-ran cars my be patched on two sides with 4" wide flat plate up to 3/8" thick max. Patch must no extend no more than 4" beyond either side of break. Please remember BENT is no broke.
24. If the rules do no say you can do it, then do not until you have spoken with one of the officials listed.
Compact Car Regulations:
1. Any Foreign or Domestic hardtop mini sedan or wagon with a 4 or 6 cylinder engine and no more than a 106" wheelbase is permitted.
2. NO Frame Shortening or moving rear ends forward to meet wheelbase requirements will be permitted.
3. Hoods, doors, and trunk rules are same as full-size cars. See Rule #11 - 14
4. Full size bumpers may be used, bumpers may be attached by adding metal straps or gussets from bumper to frame, as long as metal does not strengthen or reinforce bumper, and does not extend no more than 4" beyond frame horn or body on unitized cars, max thickness of metal is 1/4".
5. All Compact Cars can run unlimited added support from the firewall forward ONLY, as long as all added metal is inside of the engine compartment. No plating or caging on the outside of the body will be permitted.
6. Suspension Rules are same as full size cars see rule #16
7. Rear driven cars may also use any rear axle, rear to rules #16 & 17.
8. All other applicable rules are the same as full-size cars. Please contact one of the officials listed for any questions.
