KENNETT JAYCEES DEMOLITION DERBY
April 7, 2012
Payout = 1st -$1000, 2nd -$500, 3rd -$250
1. Entry Fee $40.00 per car. Entry fee admits car and driver. Location: Delta Fairgrounds, 1601 First St, Kennett, MO 63857
2. No one allowed in the pit area without a pit pass. No one less than 13 years old allowed in pits. Pit passes will be sold at the car entry gate.
3. All cars should be present by 6:00pm for Inspection. The derby starts at 7:00pm.
4. The heats will be determined by random drawing.
5. Any year model passenger cars only. No Imperials, Imperial Subs, Ambulances, Hearses, Limousines, Etc.
6. No hitting in the driver door. Violation will result in disqualification.
7. All glass, chrome and plastic must be removed from the car.
8. No 3/4 ton or larger rear ends allowed.
9. Valve stem protectors will be allowed.
10. No spray foam allowed.
11. No Painting, undercoating, mudding, greasing or dusting of the frame.
12. Transmission coolers are allowed.
13. Engine cradles and distributor protectors will be allowed. If you run a distributor protector do not mount your dash bar closer than 5in to the rear most point of the firewall. The DP must be attached to the engine or transmission only, back side must be no wider than 12in and must not contact cage before, during or after the event.
14. No metal or foreign material may be added anywhere on the car. Except rule 16 & 24
15. Stock gas tanks must be removed. The gas tank and battery must be securely mounted inside the car.
16. No larger than 8 gallon fuel tank. Fuel tank protectors are allowed, but must be attached to the seat bar and cannot attach to the floor or the frame. The protectors cannot be any more than 2in larger than the fuel tank.
17. Door seams can be welded, outside only, with a maximum 4in strap.
18. Body bushings may be removed. 3/4in all thread with a 6x6 maximum size washer may be used in body bushing holes only.
19. No welding on the frame anywhere except to weld bumpers, bumper brackets or shock horns on. No medal can be added. Bumper skins may be welded but no added metal and must be able to see inside.
20. 4-3/4in all thread may be used to the hold the hood down. You cannot put anything in front of the radiator.
21. 4-point cage may be installed inside the car. Cage cannot extend past firewall and no farther than 8in past outside rear seam of the front door. Seat bar may be Xed. Cage cannot connect to the frame and No kickers allowed.
22. One rollover bar is allowed, but must be attached to the 4-point cage inside the car. It cannot be attached to the frame or top of the car and No kickers allowed.
23. 16-chains or #9 wire or 3/8in bolts may be used on body of car; bolts cannot be used on frame. No chains larger than 1/2in and no washers larger than 1/2in.
24. Watts Link cars, the rearend will need to be attached to the same original location on top and bottom of the older ford cars, and you can only use a bolt on adapter for the top and bottom bracket it cannot be larger than 4in X 6in by ¼in thick. No more than 4 - 1/2in bolts are to be used to hold the bracket on and bolts cannot go through both sides of the frame. Do not position the adapter on the bottom of the hump to increase strength. There is a flat spot on the inside of frame just like the older fords where it will need to be attached.
25. Aluminum cradles cannot be replaced due to having to weld them in; there is no welding on frame.
Modified Derby Rules
1 - Heat
5 - car minimum
Running for entry fee, entry Fee is $40
1. No homemade bumpers, automotive bumpers only. Bumper can be fixed but has to have factory skin on them.
2. 4 point cage with kickers, roll over bar, windshield bar (windshield bar can go from cowl bar to roll over bar)
3. Any rearend. You can leaf spring your car.
4. Frame= hump plates and puddle welding are ok.
5. Body= weld all you want to weld.
6. Scabbing= scab should just cover spot needing repaired ( 2 inch over lay ) nothing thicker 1/8in.
7. Fuel tank size 8 gal.
8. No I beam cars or steel sheet cars.
You will be running for entry fee unless we have a good car count overall or a good turnout of spectators and we will not know this until the race.
This heat will be run after the non-winners heat.
