1.80's and up only, no hearses or trucks. wagons allowed.
2.all cars must be completely stripped. gas tank must be removed from car.a 6 gallon bat tank or another safe type of tank can be used and must be relocated to inside of car,covered and secured. no more thsn 6 gallons of fuel. battery must be relocated t inside of the car, covered and secured.
3.radiator mst remain in stock location, electric fans are allowed
4.all doors must be chained,welded or wired shut. metal straps can be welded to the door seams with a 3 inch wide X 1/8 thick MAX. round metal rods maybe used in door seams with a 5/16 max size of wire is #9 with 4 wraps max. the top of the door can be welded. door seams from top to bottom can be welded 16 inches the bottom of door can be welded 10 inches. inside car door seams can be welded a max equal to the outside.
5.hoods must have hole cut above carb. electric fuel pumps are allowed if cut off switch is mounted to left of steering wheel on dash bar. master switch for all electric to car is recommended. hoods can be bolted in only 4 places. 1 inch max diameter bolts or all thread. metal plates between nut and hood have a 6x6 by 1/4 max. distributor protectors are allowed. can cut firewall out enough for distributor.
6.wire can be used with 4 wraps per hole. chains can be used with 2 wraps per hole but links must remain unwelded.
7. Trunks can be welded with same material as doors or wired or chained, metal plates are same as hood.trunked bolted in 4 places max. Officials needs to be able to look in trunk. A hole must be cut in trunk 12x12 inch min. Tucked trunks are subject to having to be approved by tech official. Trunk cannot be welded to bumper.
8.bumpers can be welded or chained to prevent from coming off during derby. Metal straps may not be used to weld bumper to trunk or fenders. Bumper can not be welded to fender or bumper or any other body panels. If welding bumper no metal be be used. If chained the link have to remain unwelded. Bumper brackets can be removed and bumper welded to frame but with no metal added. Home made brackets are subject to be approved by official.
9. Bumpers are to remain in stock location on frame ( up and down) and can be no more than 30 in from ground ( center of bumper) and lower than 16 in.
10. Frame seams can be welded only on top and bottom with only 1 pass and no building up the welds.welds only allowed a arms forward. Holes in frame must remain un welded. No metal is to be added to frame however frame patching is allowed only on broke frame, metal can not be thicker than frame. This is allowed on side of frame and 3 in wide. Must leave some of broke frame visible so official can see what is being patched. Can not patch a bent frame. 2 patchs in front and 2 patches in rear. Body can not be welded to frame. If body is welded to frame you will not be able to cut loose. Will be loaded and not able to run.
11. Front and rear suspension can be welded solid or bolted. A max 5 in front/rear of a frame(control arm). Universal/slider drive shafts are allowed, rear end back braces can be used single brace only.
12. Changing from coil to leaf is not allowed. Chaining of rear humps is not allowed. Chain or wire from frame to frame is not allowed.
13. No reinforcement to frame, body, or suspension is allowed. No reinforcing front end,rear end, radiator support,fenders or anywhere on car ,any rust patching will be subject to tech officials approval.
14. Tranny coolers are allowed. But no electors fans on tranny coolers allowed. If tranny cooler is mounted in car it needs to mounted in safe manner behind driver and secured
15. Max tire size is 16 in. No 3/4 or 1 ton rear ends allowed. All cars must have 5 lug rear ends . Rear gears can be welded for pos trac.
16. 4 point cage is recommended. Bar behind seat cannot be more than 8 in from front door seams. Driver and passenger bars must bea minimum of 10 in from the bottom of the inside door seam. No bars or plates can be attached to floor board or frame. Roll bars are allowed but must be minimum of 10 in from floor pan. Recommended to be attached to behind the seat bar. You may run a back window bar from roof to speaker deck. Not from roof and tie into roll bar.
17. Foam spray is allowed in limited use around radiator only. No foam spray can be used in fenders, doors frames trunks or hoods. If official thinks you used foam spray in excess you will have to remove it.
18. All drivers will use a DOT approved helmet and use seat belts at all times. Fire jacket, shoes, and pants are not required but are highly recommended
19. All cars must have working brakes and a roof sign is recommended with your car number
20. All cars are subject to to having a small hole cut or drilled in car body/ frame if tech official has reason to check area in question.
21. Only one person allowed at tech booth area when cars are being teched.
22. Just because it's not listed in these rules doesn't make it legal. If you are not sure about a rule contact us before you do it. Not having copy of rules is not an excuse
23 all cars must pass inspection before being allowed to derby
24. Gas tank protectors can be 24" wide and can touch speaker deck, must float can not be welded and no larger than 6 " material
25. 03 up can weld older ford cradle in it. If you run a chevy cradle it must be bolted in and chrysler cradle must be bolted in no torsion bars. Cradle only.
26. Building your cars to these rules does not make demolition derby safe. These rules are to help make every car have a fair chance to win. These rules are not for drivers safety. You enter these demolition Derbys at your own risk with the understanding that you could hVe injury, harm, or death and will acknowledge this on your release of liability form.
27. If you car is flagged after inspection, your car is still open to inspection at anytime before,during,or after the derby at the discretion of any official
28. Officials and tech inspectors have final decisions on all rules!!!!!!
