While on vacation last July in the Dyesrville area, I went to this derby on a Sunday afternoon. Hot as heck. The track is nice and big but from what I saw there were two sets of rules for the '80+ full size class. One was bone stock no frame welding done. Most of the drivers had 80s GMs that only had some of the doors welded shut and no other welding. There were supposed to be no welding on teh front door seams. Two or three new style Fords cars some how passed tech with fully welded doors, titled and swapped suspensions with what sounded like high end motors. They promptly trashed everyone and teamed their way to top 3 finishes.
I had looked forward to seeing a pretty much stock 80s style show and ended up seeing more of the same . . . . favoritism and $ ruining the sport today.
