The 2013 Hoagland Days Derby is in the record books. I can't thank all the drivers and fans enough for "again" making this such a success. We had a total of "118" entries this year! That's an increase of 8 over last years 110. Both nights the grandstands were packed and the action was great! Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to seeing you next year!

I attended your derby in Ottawa, Ohio this past Saturday. I thought it was an excellent derby Good derby action. I was looking at a few cars with some friends who attended the event with me, and noticed a few things some cars had, and other cars did not. Biggest thing that bothered me was, Why did the Allen brothers have FULL skidplates bolted the crossmember going towards the front of the car when IN YOUR OWN RULES it says "NO FULL SKIDPLATES"? I saw a few cars that had to have holes cut in the trunk lid when they V'd them, but other cars did not? One example of that was the #20 Box style towncar in the first heat driven by Jason Herringhouse. Another thing that bothered me. It seemed like you guys inspected cars harder then others. Like all of the Big Boy Demo Team cars INCLUDING the #20 Box towncar. You barely looked at them, and still sent them back for little work to be done. Like the wasted 9 gauge wire in the hood, fenders folded over and welded on the box lincoln. But yet, The ford wagon had plates from the hitch STILL ON THE FRAME!!! AND THE FRAME WAS CREASED!!! I'm glad some of the drivers who ran last year told me about you guys playing favorites, and those drivers are now driving for me in my derbies all across Eastern Ohio. Now I know how NOT to Inspect cars. Steve Niese HIMSELF told me, that your inspections are BS.
Good with your derbies in the future, because you will need it. Keep that favorite $hit in Indiana.

I'm glad you agree it was a good hard hitting show, everyone has been saying the same. The rest of your post seems you haven't read our rules so let me clear up your misunderstandings with quotes from our rules. 1st the Allen boys cars skid plates were NOT attached to the tranny crossmember, the engine craddle, or the frame in any way so they didn't have full skid plates. They are attached to the oil pan with 2 bolts and to the tranny pan with 2 bolts. In rule 20 it says: "Oil pan and transmission plates may be used". So, those were 100% legal. As for your misunderstanding of the trunks: Rule 25 says" "There MUST be a 12" hole or OTHERWISE CLEAR VIEW INSIDE TRUNK AREA" Some cars are easy to see in "clear view" as they are built. If we can't see in we ask drivers to cut a hole in so we can just as our rule states so we treated everyone the same there. Now from rule 39: "You may dimple frame at rear humps" so of course we passed cars with dimpled frames because they were legal. It's funny you claim we showed favoritism to Ohio locals while making the assumption we are an Indiana group. Seems contradictory doesn't it? Did someone tell you we are from Indiana? I've lived in Ohio for 57 years so far! In the furure I encourage you to ask questions so you won't have these misunderstandings.
Our numbers are great at our shows and the drivers tell us it's because we treat everyone fair, equal, and with respect. Each time we're asked to take over a new show(we have NEVER asked for one)we know a small few will refuse to conform to the rules and not getting special treatment and will stop coming and we're ok with that. Those few leaving are the very thing that brings back past driver's and brings new drivers to the sport both of which explain why our numbers traditionally increase each year.
Steve told us he "lost a $100 bet" that his car would pass inspection the first time, which it did not.

Just curious, Do your rules only pertain to certain people? Again, BOTH Allen cars had FULL SKID PLATES.
40. No full skid plates. Oil pan and transmission plates may be used.
If you have rules, PLEASE stick to them!

If you have rules, PLEASE stick to them! AGAIN you post negative comments based on incorrect information. If you don't understand the rules or have questions please ask. Neither Allen car or any other car had a full skid plate! Both have a skid plate attached only to the oil pan and transmission pan exactly as the rule allows.

Just wondering when your points awards party was? I'm interested in going. I'd like to meet your drivers in person. I maybe running a few next year.
Btw, Both allen cars did have full skid plates. They told me personally at the Lima, Ohio derby that they did and that they aren't running united shows anymore. They're tired of getting accused of cheating. One of them said also that at the jay county derby he put a 98-02 p71 frame under a box vic body. Since when was that allowed? We swapped a sedan frame for a wagon frame in a 80's gm for van wert a few years ago, and you told us to load it. Not accusing you of anything, Just wanted to know what I can and can't do!

Dont try to argue here, Its like beating a horse. We all know Allens car we're loaded. Tim we should build our cars exactly how they do, and I bet money we'll get loaded. UNLESS we register our last names as Allen LOL. The favoritism that goes on at United shows is pretty amazing. I went to the van wert show cuz I was bored and it's only a half hour from me. I saw so much crap. That was illegal to the rules. I saw several cars with the drip edge not in the stock location. fully seam welded trunks BUT they had the 5 patches on top. I saw legit TILTED cars, the cars had the flaps cut and rewelded. The winning car was BAGGING very bad. The guy that got injured hit a ILLEGAL foxbody ford, and I was told there that the foxbody in the compacts #468 was BUILT AT A OFFICIALS HOUSE!!!!! I'll run a United show in 2014. I'm thinking Harlan, or ottawa. I also heard a rumor about united possibly getting a new head official??
