Hello. Now in stock. 14 bolt, 40 spline, mini-spools. These are a two piece mini spool, that simply bolts in to a four-pin cross carrier. The 14 bolt must be an "open" style carrier. These are the four-pin. The limited slip style carrier is a three-pin style, and will not work. Machine work is required on the stock, open carrier. The hole for the 40 spline axle shafts must be increased. The hole for the side gear (now mini spool) must be increased as well. Simple to do at a machine shop. We also offer an exchange program. You send us your good, clean, carrier, we then machine it and send it back to you with the mini spool. After a few trials, we are confident of the quality. These are proven behind both automatic, and manual transmissions. Not one failure.
Introductory price is $180.00 plus shipping. Machine work on your carrier is $100.00. Thank you for reading. David Bryan

Hello. Why do all this? Do the math, and make your own choice. A GM 14 bolt assembly was made from 1973, up to at least 2009. Early ones were GM, and later on they were made by AAM. They, so far, seem to be the same, and parts interchange. (a 1974 carrier will bolt in a 2003 AAM) The point is, there are thousands still out there. They can be bought for $150.00 or so. These do come with 3:73 (three speed drivers), 4:10, and 4:56 ratio. Add $280.00 from above. Add $625.00 for a "loaded" pair of 40 spline Moser Hobby stock axle shafts. Add $90.00 for a pair of deep bore housing ends from Moser. Total is $1145.00. A little cutting and welding required. Seems reasonable in this day of $3000.00 assemblies. You will not find a stronger starting assembly, for a derby car, anywhere. The down side? They are very heavy. They require one long axle shaft, and one shorter axle shaft. The up side? Many. Round yokes and pinion brakes are in stock. Brace, truss kits are in stock. HD hub kits/flange protectors are in stock. All the very best. David Bryan
