how about all the emissions garbage? im assuming i can take all that out and just plug any vacuum lines... or am on the wrong track? You can remove some, but not all of the sensors and emissions. I wouldnt remove it unless you know for certain its ok without it. If you want to test it, then unplug the unit and test drive the car each time.

Unplugging an o2 sensor on any ford efi system will not typically make it run richer..A faulty o2 sensor could cause it to run rich , but when its unpluged the pcm relies on a known fuel strategy .. If you want it to run rich , you can simply unplug the vacume line from the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail.. Demolitionmission has the right idea..... Don't destroy anything you may need until you test it and make sure it isn't needed.. If it were my car though , Id unkook everything BUT the IAC Valve , map sensor , of course the fuel injectors , ignition componets , TP sensor , coolant temp sensor and the maf sensor if it is new enough to have one. The problem with leaving anything not really needed is if the car catches fire or something gets pinched and shorts a wire out it could damage the pcm or just make it screw up.. So if you remove or delete any sensor's or switches..remove the whole wire from the harness so it is lees likely to short the system.

Just a thought, the coolant temp sensor will read incorrectly (too low because no coolant is passing by the ECT) if the coolant is gone this may change the fuel and timing map. I would trick the pcm in thinking the temp is 190 or below all the time.
