IF YOU DONʼT SEE SOMETHING IN THE RULES, THAT DOESNʼT MEAN YOU CAN DO IT. PLEASE CONSULT AN OFFICIAL BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY MODIFICATIONS THAT ARE IN A GREY AREA AND ARE NOT DESCRIBED IN THESE RULES. IF YOU DONʼT KNOW, ASK!
DRIVERS ENTRY
Drivers must be at least 18 years of age, or if 16, 17 years of age must have notarized permit by parent/guardian. Driver must furnish his/her own car. No jeep, trucks, Rancheros, El Caminos, convertibles, carryalls, hearses, limos, pre 70s lincolns,or imperials/subs. PARTICIPANT REGULATIONS Driver may maneuver forward or backward. Seat belts must be operational on all cars and trucks. No deliberate driver’s door hits. If a driver does not hit another active car in one minute that car/driver shall be disqualified. No sandbagging! No team driving allowed. We will not let you team drive even on a sandbagger. Cars must show visible damage or move when hit or be disqualified . Driver must remain in his/her car with helmet on until car is removed from track or officials tell you differently. Make sure helmet strap is fastened if helmet keeps coming off during race you will be disqualified. All drivers and pit crew must attend meeting prior to race time. ENTRY FEE Each car/driver shall pay $25.00. Each rider must pay $30. Each pit person shall pay $20.00. All drivers and pit persons must sign waiver and release of liability before entering pit area or track. Entries will be accepted up to 1hour prior to race time. Absolutely no one under 14 years allowed in pits or on track. Note: Decision of judges is final. Any car found not to be built by these rules and cannot be made to conform will not be allowed to run. Cheaters will forfeit trophy and prize money.
Compact Rules Same as stock other than 4 or 6 cylinder and 108" wheel base or less.
2012 Stock Rules
CARS:
No imperial or imperial subs, hearse limos 03 and newer must use stock cradle.
PREPARATION:
All glass and lights must be removed from the exterior of the car. Everything but the front seat must be removed from the interior of the car. Remove gas tank and battery and mount in driver’s compartment - make sure it is stationery and will not move. Cover both the gas tank and battery with rubber material.
TIRES
Tires should be 16” and smaller. Screwing tires to rim or split rims is not allowed. 12-ply forklift tires and tractor tires are allowed. Paddle tires are not allowed.
DOORS
Can be welded solid, but with no bigger than a 4" wide strap.
BUMPERS
Bumpers can be loaded inside or on the back. Seams can be welded. Leave holes open on ends. Bumper and shocks can be welded solid to frame no rear shock mounts on the front, WE DO NOT WANT TO PICK UP YOUR BUMPERS! There is no limit on the use of #9 wire on the front and rear bumpers through the hood and trunk.
Engines and Transmissions
Any motor and transmission in any car, but must be mounted close to stock location. NO ENGINE OR DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTORS!! ONLY PROTECTOR ALLOWED IS A CARB PROTECTOR.
RADIATORS
Use any stock radiator mounted in stock position. Reserve tanks are not allowed.
REAR END
Car rear end only. You can use slider driveshaft.
SUSPENSION
You may chain or bolt your a-arms down to achieve your height.
FRAMES
No welding on frame unless noted. On pre ran cars you are allowed 40”x1/4" plates, to use on damage only, and this has to be noticeable damage. You may weld one pass firewall forward no wider than ½”, top side only. Any rust damage repairs must be approved by inspector before hand.
HOODS, TRUNKS, FENDERS
You may have 10 3/8” or smaller bolts to bolt hood skin. If hood is removed, fan belt must be cut or fan removed. Hood can have (6) 3/4" All Thread. Two can go through the frame. Trunk can have (4) 3/4”All Thread. Two can go through the frame and 10 3/8" bolts in trunk seam. Must cut (2) 4” fire holes in hood. May run safety tubes (2” pipe or square tubing) from 6"on roof to cowl and 6"back on trunk lid, but cannot connect to halo bar. Can have (6) 3/8 bolts in each fender. NO BODY WELDING OTHER THAN DOORS!!
INTERIOR
Must have cage, not to exceed 10” wide with (2) or (3) cross bars, which are not to exceed 5”diameter. Cage can be from firewall to rear wheel humps body not frame. Cage must be chained, bolted or welded, nothing is allowed to touch the packing tray (2) down tubes on each side, front and rear seat area is allowed, but must be 6" from crushbox. Kickers and floor plates are not allowed. Sub frame cars are allowed (2) 6" plates to bolt sub in with bolts no bigger than 3/4".
BODY MOUNTS
May be removed but must use 3/4”or smaller allthread or bolts.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
Seat belts and a DOT approved helmets are required for both driver and rider. Long pants and shirts are required. A bar or #9 wire is required from firewall to the roof of car in the center. If you change anything on your car after inspection to make your car illegal you shall be disqualified with no refund of entry. NOTE - OFFICIALS HAVE THE
RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY A CAR/DRIVER AT ANY TIME. Any person in arena or pit area causing trouble and not complying with rules will be asked to leave property. Any person behaving disorderly can be banned from running future events. Officials have the right to re-inspect a car at any time, including after the race. If anything is found illegal prize money will be forfeited, which will then go to the next qualifying car. Any protests must be made 5 minutes after the heat in question. If any mechanical work needs to be done to prove your complaint, you must complete such work and put the car back to its previous condition.
2012 Modified Rules
AUTOMOBILE BODY REGULATIONS Passenger cars, station wagons or convertibles (convertibles Must have box type roll cage.) No trucks, Jeeps, hearses, pre 70's Lincolns, imperials/subs or limousines. 2003 and newer are allowed but must use 80 and newer .Chevy or ford car cradle no added metal. If dashboard is removed, VIN# Plate Must REMAIN. Cars previously run in Demolition Derby may install new front clip. Any clip may be used on any car, Must be installed in stock manner. Installation Must be approved by Officials. All cars must have car number exhibited on both front doors and on upright number plate on the roof of the car, minimum of 15"x15". Car numbers are registered first-come first-serve basis. No pre-registered numbers are allowed. All glass Must be removed before reaching race track. All cars must have approved seat belts. All rear seats must be removed. All cars must be swept clean, both drivers compartment and trunk. No spare tires, broken glass or trash, etc. On Sedans, deck lid must remain in stock upright position, deck lid and quarter panels may be cut or pre-bent in any manner. Station wagon roof may be cut or pre-bent but cannot be bolted to floor. No Sedagons. Batteries
Battery must be securely fastened and covered in front seat passenger floorboards. Only one automobile type battery allowed.
Radiators
Any type automotive radiator may be used but must be mounted in stock position. At drivers option he may compete without radiator, but must run on water in block only. No reserve tanks.
Safety and Reinforcement
All cars must have either a bar, wire, chain, etc.running center mast from roof down to the firewall. All doors may be welded and reinforced. All external body and internal cage reinforcing must be designed for protection of driver and/or rider. External body reinforcing zone will run from 6" in front of door to rear axle center line. All internal cages will be limited to a specific area, they may be installed from base of front windshield to rear wheel humps. Internal cage supports (4 down tubes) Must be welded to flat part of frame rails. The front down tubes must stay a minimum of 6" behind the front body mount bolts. May run safety tubes (2” pipe or square tubing) from roof to 6" back on trunk lid.
Gas Tanks
Stock gas tank must be removed from original position and mounted in rear seat area and secured by existing seat belts or added metal straps. No chains, rubber straps, or round bottom tanks. A metal Marine (boat) tank is recommended. All tanks must have secure cap. All lines and fittings must be leakproof and meet approval of Officials. No more than (5) gallons of gas in tank. All cars equipped with an electric fuel pump must have some type of shut-off switch easily accessible to driver/rider. Must meet approval of officials.
Bumpers and Suspension
Any front OEM shock canister may be bolted or welded on any car. Amounts of bolts or welds may not exceed typical stock installation. Fenders and bumper ends may be trimmed to allow for wheel clearance.
Bumpers can be stuffed with an I Beam up to 4” x 1/4” on inside or 3/4” flat metal on the back of the bumper or equivalent - NO sharp points. Holes can be plated with1/4” metal weld seams. Leave the ends open. Trailer Hitches, Class A or frame mounted Must be totally removed, Class B or bumper mounted, trailer ball stub must be cut off. Suspension and steering components may be reinforced. Cars originally equipped with rear leaf springs will not be allowed more than eight leaves in the stack. Stiffness of the suspension will be left to the discretion of the driver. Converting coil to leaf spring ONLY on 80s and newer cars. Springs must have a 2” stager. No more than ( springs per side. Springs must be no more than 2 1/2 “ wide. Longest spring no longer than 5 foot. Thickness no more than 5/16". Use front trailing arm mount for front of leaves and you must use working shackles on rear. You may use (2) 4x12x1/4" straps from bumper to core support or to the bottom of the frame not both and (2) 4x12x1/4" straps from rear bumper to trunk or bottom of frame not both.
Hoods, Trunks, and Fenders
Hoods Must have (2) holes, at least 4" in diameter, on each side of carburetor—NOT directly on top of carburetor. If hood is removed, either fan blade must be removed or fan belt must be cut. On all cars, hoods, trunks and tailgates may be secured with the following method: on front of car, you can secure the hood down in 6 places no bigger than 3/4" with a washer no larger than 6" or 1/4" thick, all threads must be mounted outboard of the radiator. On the rear of car, 4 places no bigger than 3/4" all thread, with a washer no larger than 6" or 1/4" thick. (10) 3/8" or smaller bolts per wheel opening, (20) 3/8" or smaller bolts in hood skin, Two options on trunk you can bolt the edge with (15) 3/8" or smaller bolts or weld 5x5 around it with strap no wider than 4", NOT BOTH
Weld Zone
6” in front of the fire wall to the center of the rear axle. In the weld zone you can have the following: a cage with 3 cross bars, 4 kickers (front kicker must be at least 1” behind A Arm) rear kickers center of rear axle,6 down tubes, 1 halo, 2 floor plates, subframe connectors, crossmember braces,THIS DOES NOT MEAN U CAN DO WHAT U WANT IN THIS ZONE Frame seams can be welded from front to back, top and bottom with a single 1/2" weld. Do not add anything inside the frame. Leave all holes in the frame open. Use of #9 wire from radiator support to the bumper in the front and trunk lid to the bumper on the rear of car is unlimited. 60” x 4” x1/4” allowed on all cars and trucks. Absolutely no metal in frame, you will not be allowed to try to fix this, you will not be allowed to run. You may run a chain from frame to frame in the back. Any rust repairs on frame must be done with the same thickness as frame and can only run 1" past damage this will be checked any questions, call.
Engine, Transmission, and Rear End
Any engine or transmission may be used in any car. Dist and Engine protectors are allowed. Engine cooling system must be drained and flushed free of antifreeze. Air conditioner Freon R-12 Must be properly evacuated from system. This work must be accomplished before arrival at derby site. Chained, welded, or homemade motor mounts will be permitted, but must meet approval of Officials. Any type of header is allowed, but must be directed straight up. Transmission oil coolers permitted. Mountings and lines and fittings must be approved by inspection personnel. Any 8 lug or smaller rearend may be used so you don’t have to spend big bucks on aftermarket axles. Homemade spring perches or homemade trailing arm brackets may be welded to rear end. All installations Must be approved by officials. Any drive-shaft or U joint may be used. Welding of drive shaft is permitted. (2) loops of chain or wire over the Stock cross member and around rear end is permitted. No pipe or angle iron may be added. Chain or cable may be installed cross ways between rear frame rails behind rear end.
Tires
Only 16" or smaller tires and wheels will be allowed. No split rims allowed. No paddle tires. Valve stem protectors okay. No other welding or reinforcing allowed. Liquid in tires permitted, studs or screws in rims to hold tires in place permitted.
Safety Regulations
All drivers must wear approved helmets, long pants and shirt.. Entries limited to one driver/rider per class of car per show. Qualified drivers may change cars for the Feature Event providing the car changed to as run in a prior heat at this derby. A drivers' meeting will be held by the Director of Competition preceding each derby. Inspection will close one half hour before posted show time. All cars must be removed from derby site by 12:00 noon the following day unless otherwise stated at drivers meeting.Failure to do this will result in cars being removed by and becoming property of local salvage operator.

2012 Truck Rules
Any year or make of pickup, suburbans, and carryalls can be used. 2 or 4 wheel drive. Power can only go to 2 wheels. Mount battery in floor of driver’s area. Gas tank in front and middle on the bed. The bed can be attached to the cab. Other than this, build by Modified car rules.
2012 Totally Stock Rules
PREPARATION:
Must be 1980 or Newer cars. Must have stock motors and transmissions automatic only. Chevy’s must have Chevy motor, Ford’s must have Ford motor, etc. No headers on motor, must have original exhaust. All body mounts must remain stock. Stock rear end can be welded. Car must be stripped out all glass lights, chrome strips removed, etc. Move and secure gas tank and battery and over them with something rubber. Door can be welded solid. Minimum 2 x 6 x 1/4” metal cage. Must have a 2 point cage firewall to 18” behind front seat. Halo bar ok and can be lightly welded to the frame. This is the only place frames can be welded on stock. Bumpers (can be any 1980 or newer car bumper)can be lightly welded to the frame, chained or #9 wired on . We do not want to pick them up. Can have 2 3/4” allthread in front hood and 2 in trunk area. You can use 4 #9 wire from radiator support to bumper and 4 from trunk to back bumper - cannot have any in front of radiator. Must have a metal bar or #9 wire from roof to fire wall. Must have working seat belts. If it’s not on here don’t do it!!! Ask first. No loader or tractor tires. 15” or less car tires. Officials have final say - must meet rules to run

You may use (2) 4x12x1/4" straps from bumper to core support or to the bottom of the frame not both and (2) 4x12x1/4" straps from rear bumper to trunk or bottom of frame not both.
Hoods, Trunks, and Fenders
Hoods Must have (2) holes, at least 4" in diameter, on each side of carburetor—NOT directly on top of carburetor. If hood is removed, either fan blade must be removed or fan belt must be cut. On all cars, hoods, trunks and tailgates may be secured with the following method: on front of car, you can secure the hood down in 6 places no bigger than 3/4" with a washer no larger than 6" or 1/4" thick, all threads must be mounted outboard of the radiator. On the rear of car, 4 places no bigger than 3/4" all thread, with a washer no larger than 6" or 1/4" thick. (10) 3/8" or smaller bolts per wheel opening, (20) 3/8" or smaller bolts in hood skin, Two options on trunk you can bolt the edge with (15) 3/8" or smaller bolts or weld 5x5 around it with strap no wider than 4", NOT BOTH
Weld Zone
6” in front of the fire wall to the center of the rear axle. In the weld zone you can have the following: a cage with 3 cross bars, 4 kickers (front kicker must be at least 1” behind A Arm) rear kickers center of rear axle,6 down tubes, 1 halo, 2 floor plates, subframe connectors, crossmember braces,THIS DOES NOT MEAN U CAN DO WHAT U WANT IN THIS ZONE Frame seams can be welded from front to back, top and bottom with a single 1/2" weld. Do not add anything inside the frame. Leave all holes in the frame open. Use of #9 wire from radiator support to the bumper in the front and trunk lid to the bumper on the rear of car is unlimited. 60” x 4” x1/4” allowed on all cars and trucks. Absolutely no metal in frame, you will not be allowed to try to fix this, you will not be allowed to run. You may run a chain from frame to frame in the back. Any rust repairs on frame must be done with the same thickness as frame and can only run 1" past damage this will be checked any questions, call.
Engine, Transmission, and Rear End
Any engine or transmission may be used in any car. Dist and Engine protectors are allowed. Engine cooling system must be drained and flushed free of antifreeze. Air conditioner Freon R-12 Must be properly evacuated from system. This work must be accomplished before arrival at derby site. Chained, welded, or homemade motor mounts will be permitted, but must meet approval of Officials. Any type of header is allowed, but must be directed straight up. Transmission oil coolers permitted. Mountings and lines and fittings must be approved by inspection personnel. Any 8 lug or smaller rearend may be used so you don’t have to spend big bucks on aftermarket axles. Homemade spring perches or homemade trailing arm brackets may be welded to rear end. All installations Must be approved by officials. Any drive-shaft or U joint may be used. Welding of drive shaft is permitted. (2) loops of chain or wire over the Stock cross member and around rear end is permitted. No pipe or angle iron may be added. Chain or cable may be installed cross ways between rear frame rails behind rear end.
Tires
Only 16" or smaller tires and wheels will be allowed. No split rims allowed. No paddle tires. Valve stem protectors okay. No other welding or reinforcing allowed. Liquid in tires permitted, studs or screws in rims to hold tires in place permitted.
Safety Regulations
All drivers must wear approved helmets, long pants and shirt.. Entries limited to one driver/rider per class of car per show. Qualified drivers may change cars for the Feature Event providing the car changed to as run in a prior heat at this derby. A drivers' meeting will be held by the Director of Competition preceding each derby. Inspection will close one half hour before posted show time. All cars must be removed from derby site by 12:00 noon the following day unless otherwise stated at drivers meeting.Failure to do this will result in cars being removed by and becoming property of local salvage operator.
NOTE - OFFICIALS HAVE THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY A CAR/DRIVER AT ANY TIME. Any person in arena or pit area causing trouble and not complying with rules will be asked to leave property. Any person behaving disorderly can be banned from running future events. Officials have the right to reinspect a car at any time, including after the race. If anything is found illegal prize money will be forfeited, which will then go to the next qualifying car. Any protests must be made 5 minutes after the heat in question. If any mechanical work needs to be done to prove your complaint, you must complete such work and put the car back to its previous condition.
2012 Truck Rules
Any year or make of pickup, suburbans, and carryalls can be used. 2 or 4 wheel drive. Power can only go to 2 wheels. Mount battery in floor of driver’s area. Gas tank in front and middle on the bed. The bed can be attached to the cab. Other than this, build by Modified car rules.
2012 Totally Stock Rules
PREPARATION:
Must be 1980 or Newer cars. Must have stock motors and transmissions automatic only. Chevy’s must have Chevy motor, Ford’s must have Ford motor, etc. No headers on motor, must have original exhaust. All body mounts must remain stock. Stock rear end can be welded. Car must be stripped out all glass lights, chrome strips removed, etc. Move and secure gas tank and battery and over them with something rubber. Door can be welded solid. Minimum 2 x 6 x 1/4” metal cage. Must have a 2 point cage firewall to 18” behind front seat. Halo bar ok and can be lightly welded to the frame. This is the only place frames can be welded on stock. Bumpers (can be any 1980 or newer car bumper)can be lightly welded to the frame, chained or #9 wired on . We do not want to pick them up. Can have 2 3/4” allthread in front hood and 2 in trunk area. You can use 4 #9 wire from radiator support to bumper and 4 from trunk to back bumper - cannot have any in front of radiator. Must have a metal bar or #9 wire from roof to fire wall. Must have working seat belts. If it’s not on here don’t do it!!! Ask first. No loader or tractor tires. 15” or less car tires. Officials have final say - must meet rules to run
