2012 Truck Rules All trucks are to be built to the full-size car rules, unless specified differently below. There are some exceptions. If it doesn’t say you can do it, then don’t. Build within the rules, not in the gray areas. OFFICIALS HAVE THE LAST SAY
Open to all full-size trucks, suburbans, and SUVs, up to and including a 1 ton. No duallies and no mini trucks. 4x4 trucks are allowed, but you are only allowed 1 driveshaft.
FRAMES 1. All seams may be welded. 2. NO SHORTENING OF FRAMES. Trucks must remain at stock wheelbase. 3. No filling of frames for strength. 4. Suburbans and SUVs may be sedagoned. Roofs cannot be tucked down any farther than the lower window line. Sedagons must have a 12”x12” hole cut in the roof for inspection. 5. You may fix a broken or bent frame, but the band aid rule for the cars must be followed. 6. The front frame may be boxed in 8” back to help with securing the bumper. Don’t over due this rule or you will have to cut. 7. NO HUMP PLATES
BUMPERS 1. Bumpers must start as an OEM factory bumpers. Follow car bumper rule for running a loaded bumper. 2. DEC bumpers are allowed. 3. You will be allowed to weld bumper skin to bumper and tuck the ends. 4. Other than these exceptions, follow the car rules for bumper installation.
BODY 1. All body seams may be welded. 2. Radiators must be mounted in factory position and must be a factory automotive radiator. No homemade radiators. 3. Follow the car rules for hoods, fenders and doors. 4. No reinforcing of the firewall
CABS 1. Cabs may be bolted solid to the frame in 4 spots using all thread and washers no bigger than 6”x6”x1/4” 2. Must have a bar/loop of wire/or chain from the cowl to the roof for safety 3. Reinforcement of cab for safety will be allowed. Again don’t over due it or you will have to cut. 4. Battery must be moved to passenger floorboard. Must be secured and covered. 5. 2 automotive type battery allowed. 6. When patching or replacing floorboards, you cannot bring plates up behind the pedals. Must stay on flat part of the floor and cannot go up the firewall.
CAGES 1. TRUCKS MUST HAVE A SAFETY CAGE TO COMPETE 2. The cage must be at least a 4 point cage. 3. Cage can be welded to the frame in 4 spots. 4. No kickers or angled down tubes allowed. 5. Cage must be contained inside the cab. 6. 3 inch pipe or square tubing max. too build cage with. BEDS 1. Beds can be welded solid to the truck cab and also bolted to the cab for added safety. 2. Bed bolts may be replaced with 1” all thread and 6”x”6x1/4” plates may be used as washers. 3. Bed cannot be welded to the frame. 4. Beds can have an additional 4 bolts added to help hold the bed to the frame. These 4 bolts are allowed to go through the frame. 5. Tailgates may be welded solid if left up. 6. If tailgate is removed, it must remain behind wheel wells. 7. Tailgates and bedsides can be rolled. If so, they can only be bolted to the bed floor. NOT THROUGH THE FRAME. Sheet metal to sheet metal. NO WELDING
REARENDS 1. Any 8 lug rear end is permitted. 2. A spreader bar between the wheel wells, above the rear end is permitted. This bar has to be laid on the bed floor and cannot extend past the inside of the fender tubs. 3. Spreader bar not to exceed 4” pipe or square tubing. Fastened with 2 pieces of chain around the rear end. (one per side) 4. Flat strap may be welded to frame side and ran at an angle to the rear end housing to help keep the rear end square. You are allowed one piece of flat strap per side. (2 total) No wider than 3” and no thicker than ½”. Straps cannot be longer than 3ft.
SUSPENSION 1. A-Arms may be welded solid or bolted solid. 2. Rear leaf clamps are permitted. 4 per side. 3. No homemade leaf spring. Must be factory leaf packs.
FUEL TANKS 1. Must be mounted in the center of the bed at the front against the cab. 2. Gas tank protectors are encouraged and can be connected to the cage in the cab. Don’t over due this rule or you will have to cut. 3. Steel or aluminum tanks only. No plastic tanks. 4. Tanks must be secure and covered. REMEMBER Safety first. Tank gets knocked loose, you are done.
TIRES 1. Any 19.5” or smaller tire is allowed. No split rims, no screw rims, and no studded tires. 2. Wheel weights must be removed. 3. Valve stem protectors are allowed.

Remember the rules above plus the car rules are to be used to build your trucks. Officials have the last say. Any questions, call Chad at 618-562-7212.
