Sorry i only had 3 people say yes to cold bending and I already said no to fuel tank protectors. You want a fuel tank protector make it so i can just put my fingure between the tank and 2x2 tubing that is all i will allow and it must be level with the seat bar. Not going to be used as a kicker to stop the car from bellying out. Or if you want to keep you tank safe mount it to the back seat pipe. WELCOME THE GRAY AREAS...

There Are NO GRAY areas IF you stretch the rules you will not run. The Rule are black and white. These are Action rules so you know the rules. Don't Beleive me TRY ME !!!!! IF THE RULES DON"T SAY THEN DON"T DO IT , Or you better bring a torch with alot of gas.

I can sit here for days and make a set of rules with all the do not crap. But we are all adults and I would hope most of you can read. I am still thinking about impounding all cars after inspection instead of a few people walking the pits watching.

I am still thinking about impounding all cars after inspection instead of a few people walking the pits watching. A word to the wise ...... If you don't want rules pushed, you better put everything in writing, if you don't, you enter grey areas ..... if you intend to enforce grey areas you will entice arguing about making the rules as you go ..... not good, the fastest way I know to push drivers away. This process has ruined more derbies than arguing over money .... don't act like you are for the drivers, then piss all over them over rule disagreements and tell them "it's just raining" .... Do you have a size limit on fuel tanks to go with protector limits? Are Nerat bell housings legal? Trans protectors ok? Solid engine and trans mounts ok ? What are your guide lines for cold bending ... how will you measure for it? Can we shorten front and rear frame length? Suspension swaps ok? Rod Don't take this post wrong Bob, I'm trying to help you, just want you to understand what you are up against, derbies are totally different now than they were 10 years ago ...... not just for fun anymore.

You hit everything right on the head Rod because this isn't your first rodeo and have dealt with all of this both as a driver and a promoter. There are so many gray areas right now that these questions are not being answered. My phone has still been ringing off the hook with questions and complaints. That is why I had 10 pages of rules to try and cover every question and still could add more after every show because there was someone that could find a way to stretch everything.

I know what you are all saying. It is those who do push every rule that has wrecked this sport for alot of people. I went with Action Rules because I was hoping to have a good show but not with jerry behind it and a guarenteed pay out. If I have to make a set of do not rule I will.
There is no protector of any kind allowed only a basic craddle. Solid mounts are fine. Body creasing is allowed. Rear quarter panels must remain upright. Rear trunk area must remain upright not smash bact to trunk lid. Trunklid must remain 50 percent stock. No shortening of frame rails any where. Absolute zero cold bending. Cage must be in side the car not the Doors. No tucking front fenders behind the doors. NO wheel protector or solid wheels. valve stem protectors are fine. No solid tires. No foam tires no water in tires. ect. if you have questions Call first don't just do it. I can go on and on but i would hope you get the point. CALL JUST DON"T DO IT OR YOU WILL CUT IT.

I understand what you were doing Rod and i appreciate it. But if they have to look that hard into the rules and can't read black and white rules they can stay home. Action has ran these rules for 4 years and they don't have problems with most of there drivers. If you can't follow a simple set of rules to build a car you should just drive outlaw.

ok i was asked to clear this up if anybody with a ford or ford questions as far as shortening the frames and reminder no cold bending or tipping of any kind,,, you can only shorten the front frame only,"hard nosing" no shortening of the rear,,, Dave and i were talking about this we will go only 3'' off the front on vics, marquis, and on lincolns 6'' on the front do not remove or replace or relocate the front core support body mount brackets. we know that everyone that will be RACING a car for this show is smart enough to use there own REASONABLE discretion with this,no engine or transmission protectors of and kind, if anybody has any questions contact 608 697-1528 or 697-0963 we'd like to think this is more than clear thank you guys and any suggestions we'll listen to for any class.

Yes I know what action says and luck about cold bending the reason i said no is because even cold bending is abused. You got people notching the frame then bending it then welding it then dimpling it to make it look like it was cold bent. All covered with paint. The paint is easy to find but then you have the arguement that they just painted there trany crossmember ect. Which reminds me If you bring a freshly painted frame you might as well just buy a grandstand ticket.
